1. For me it started with mindset. I truly learnt to love myself and make healthy changes for me not for anyone else’s opinions. Learning to accept and love myself for me helped make eating healthier, exercising and being confident easier because I stopped pressuring myself and the stress of it just disappeared. I now count calories, get my steps in and don’t give a fuck if people like the way I look or not.
2. Past things that prevented me were health issues and lack of motivation. Also living in a huge family as you’re bound to have angry and negative people around you at one point or another. This also means living in a household full of junk food and temptations.
3. Yes! I personally love the subtle art of not giving a fuck.
4. I try and surround myself with genuine friends who I can be 100% myself around. Also people who aren’t judgmental, toxic or constantly negative.
5. I became too consumed with how people perceived me. I was also constantly comparing myself to my twin and woke up one day and was over the self criticism. This all happened due to a medical condition that made me gain a lot of weight. I missed my old body but in order to move past it I had to accept it. I grew confident with my new curves and bigger figure and eventually was able to start losing weight.
That’s really great to hear! What made you decide to have this mindset? What were you like before you had this mindset?
I realised that being self conscious and negative wasn’t getting me anywhere. It was depressing and life is meant to be fun. So I stopped caring about the bad and started accepting it. I was still the same person but I was more shy because I lacked confidence. Once this changed so did my social life, my work performance, even my dating life. I stopped settling for assholes because I realised my worth.
Congratulations on that
You sure are Self focused. I am not sure that I would enjoy being around someone who is in love with oneself...
