Can you pass the bath test?

The bath test is used to determine whether or not someone is mentally competent to take care of themselves or needs put into an asylum or a care home.

The person being tested is stood in front of a full bath tub. By the bath there is a choice of a teaspoon a cup and a bucket. They are told to empty the bath. What would you choose and why?

The teaspoon is the best tool to choose to pry the plug to drain the bathtub. The other options are not helpful.

I feel like this is more of a riddle than an actual test to decide whether to commit someone to a mental facility.

Has it a clogged drain can I unclog it? If not possible to use am I insane for thinking about trying to tip over the bathtub ( depends what kind of bathtub it is and where it stands outside or in a bathroom)? If both are not helping the bucket and for the last rest the cup.

The water would have to be dumped somewhere, so a bucket would be too heavy to carry if you're walking in and out of the bathroom. The water would spill out of a teaspoon because it's too small, but a cup, you can carry with less chance of spilling because they're more lightweight.

Cup would probably be best. Tea spoon will take forever, and bucket is too big, so if I stick it in, it'll displace the water and 'cuz it to overflow from the tub.
So cup will be the best option, even though it'll take a while. Though the real question is, where the hell do I dump it?

I would use the cup. Pull the stopper from the drain and put it in the cup. It's usually on a chain and if you just left it in the tub it would probably be sucked back into teh drain and prevent the water from flowing out.

Simply opening the tub drain isn't an option in this scenario? If for some reason it isn't (like if it's clogged or stuck), then using the bucket to empty the water into the toilet or sink to service the drain has to be the answer.

First I'd use the bucket to get as much water out as quickly and efficiently as possible. Then I'd go to the cup to get the remaining water out.

Here in the States, we have drains built iton the bottom of our bathtubs. We don’t use hip baths with water drawn by our servants, any more :)

Bathtubs have a foot plug that csn be opened by pulling up on the push-pull knob or pulling the chain.

Well to be honest, I would grab the teaspoon and the cup and go put the teaspoon where it goes. Pour me a stiff drink in the cup and go back to the bath and turn the bucket upside down and sit on it while I pull the plug and watch the water drain out in case the the body did not resolve all of the way.
