This man I know took the classes and got a certificate. I don't think he went to college for it though. I guess you can.
Even just having a certificate, he and another guy opened up a massage place and made a lot of money at it.

Then I guess they invested their money in the stock market and got rich. The guy I know travels all over the world with his girlfriend. If his wife was still alive, he would be a guy that worked part-time in a video shop. She didn't want him around all those girls at the school or massaging them. He us kind of a horn dog.

Some states just require certs.

My niece initially got a degree in mortuary science and was very successful in that industry for several years. Then she went back and obtained several certifications in massage therapy and changed careers. She became very successful and makes good money. She loves it.

It's worth checking out, good massage therapists are typically always busy. In todays world of stress/anxiety, they typically are a repeat business.

No, not necessarily. I think that depends on the jurisdiction. However, an LMT (licensed massage therapist) does have credentials that basically say "This person knows what s/he is doing".
