A lot of times throughout history, it was impossible to get clean water. In the 18th century, it was believed that bathing would make you sick. This is why everybody drank ale and wine for thousands of years... and they would just wipe the sweat away with a cloth. Various oils and scents were used in their hair not necessarily to make it smell nice but to drive off nits and bugs. (Again) in the 18th century, cleanliness was denoted more by an "orderly appearance" than by washing. If your hair and clothes were neat and mended and fit well, you were perceived as "clean."

Now... here's where I beg forgiveness, as I will never meet anyone and I know it's skeevy and gross. I really haven't left the house since COVID started 4 years ago, and in that time I have let it all go. Like ALL go. So, what started as a "living history" experiment due to having shitty water pressure and no gym to go to to shower has turned into some very interesting first-hand experience.

You can go a REALLY long time without bathing. Yep. Wipe away the sweat so you don't get burning in crotch/elsewhere, use powder/talc/cornstarch like they would've done, don't look in the mirror at the greasy hair, and let your skin get used to the change in pH after not washing every day, and you can live reasonably comfortably without bathing or showering. No lice, no nits or fleas or other grossness. No (more) chafing and skin irritations due to dry skin (although you do tend to need the palm-sander to exfoliate because it doesn't go anywhere if you're not softening/washing it away)...

And while it took a while to get used to my own stink/smell, there largely isn't any if you wipe away the sweat and keep things dry. I'm always asking people if I stink, and they can't tell or notice. Basically, when I notice and can't stand it, I'll go rinse off... but now... showering actually hurts because again, that pH thing getting used to a state of "equilibrium."

So, I'm gross. No two ways about it. But I do not appear to be ill from it, I still wash my hands when I go to the bathroom, I still hose off myself bidet-style once in a while in lieu of a full-shower, but once you adjust, you can go a long time. Historically, people who did not have access to clean water could go their entire lifetime without ever having a bath.

I have ultra-fine hair. It never has any volume, is always greasy and flat, sloughs off and can't grow very long... but never washing it? Suddenly it's like I've got "product" that gives it volume, it's not breaking and has gotten quite long, it's got curl and shape...

So, I am disgusting in private so I can share science with you, lol! (No judgements please. I know I'm not "right" but I kinda don't care, either, so who's it hurting?)

My parents house is so old there is no shower there is only a ancient bathtub lol. But i do take a bath usually every night unless i have a day off and staying home then i might skip it.

Depends. I always shower, I never take a bath. I don’t sweat a lot or get very active. I wash my hair every 3 days.(my hair reaches the end of my back, so I don’t want to dry it out and make it brittle) I wash my body on those days as well. It depends, but I usually shower 3-4 days a week unless I feel icky from going out.

It depends on when I have to poop. 💩💩 I showered today earlier. 💞 I like to be clean down there. so I use a Bidet and my showerhead. 💞

I take a long shower at night and a quick “wake up” shower in the morning but that’s only if I’m working. When I’m not working, I’ll skip the morning shower.
