Is 30 minutes too long for a shower?

It seems a little long for a quick morning shower before work, but nice for a relaxing one on a day off.

Here’s the thing. My roommate and I both work overnight. The difference is my other roommate drives. So, even though we both work the same over night shift, my roommate gets up later than me to get ready. We work 10pm-6am. I usually get in the shower around 6:50-7:20pm. I know my roommate gets in around 8:10-8:20pm. So I’m usually out the shower by 7:40 7:48 and I call myself being considerate of my roommate needing to get in after me and in my head I’m not in the shower that long. It doesn’t feel like I am. The water is even still hot/warm when I get out but my roommate has been getting upset with me saying the water doesn’t stay hot and that I’m inconsiderate but I swore to them it’s not done intentionally. I’m trying to figure out what exactly is considered too long and am I not giving my roommate enough grace to shower with hot water as well even though it seems like I am.

Do you have your own water heater or are you on a shared one like in an apartment building where other people are using hot water?

Shared. Other people use it.

It's problem the others using up all the water and not you. You should suggest she try showering before you to see if she has any problem with running out of water.

i think so. and risk of harming skin if too frequent or too much time. need correct amount.

on the other hand, not enough shower is gross and can cause other health problems that are worse then dry skin.

After about 15 mintues I start getting dizzy in the shower but if 30 mintues is fine for you then I don't see a issue

Way too long but it's fine if you do it once in a while. I personally love long hot showers.

I'd say yeah. But only because I find that 10-15 minutes is the best for me when I'm focused on cleaning the entire time. It's enough time to be thorough & still enjoy the shower.

It’s way too long I would have a fit if you were my roommate because I have a water leak at my house underground and now pay $385 Every cycle it’s gone up more

Wow. That’s crazy I never looked at 30 minutes being long because it doesn’t feel long and the water and is still hot/warm when I get out in 30 minutes which is why I figured it wasn’t a long time.

To me a 40 minutes to 1 hour is long.

It’s crazy I lost one of my friends because of it it’s serious business and I’ve got a serious water leak at my house. Can you imagine how much that bill would be every day somebody taking a 30 minute shower. The next roommate that I find I’ve got to talk to them before they sign up about no 30 minute showers. Basic that’s like falling asleep in the shower.
