My father was a physician. When he passed away at the age of 98, to his very last day he was able to tell the physicians who were treating him what he thought they were doing wrong and recommend to them how to do those things better. And they listened to him and valued his advice. He didn't lose one bit of his mental fitness even at 98, he was as sharp as he ever was.
I also know other people who haven't even hit 60 yet who are completely mentally incompetent.
It's not age that matters when it comes to mental fitness. Two people can be the same age and have a world of difference in their mental capacity. And physical capacity too.
So should people be disqualified from being president just because of their age, and why would age even matter if they are mentally and physically fit?

Yes, for one even if there are some exceptions of people who are 90 years old the old age does take a toll on your body and you are not as fit both mentaly or physically compared to a 60 (or younger year old)
And people who are older tend to be more sceptical of new things, they are less likely to approve or even understand new technologies, there are exceptions, and even the "young brats of 60 year old politicians" are also vicitm of that "new is always bad" mentality.
But most importantly, if you die before the shit you've done and you don't care about the future and future generations you are more likely to put bad shortsighted policies into place. And obviously there are exceptions here as well.
But with everything going on and as i'm looking into politics worldwide, what i see in general is that the majority of politcians are old and disconmected from the worries and problems of the youth. This is definetely not a direct correlation as even the hamdfull "younger" politicians are doing the same, more or less. Its also a question of class, wealth, social circles...
But in general we need more young people in politics.
I personally believe that age is far less important a metric, than mental acuity and the physical fitness, required to actually perform the most stressful and arguably most difficult job in our great republic! However, I do wish we had someone in their 40’’s or fifties! Both Clinton and Obama started their tenure as president with dark hair, and they both went gray during their time as the head of the Executive Branch, and Commander In Chief! The job of POTUS is not an old mans game! (IMHO).
Sincerely, Laura 🤗 🥰
Both of these people have already publicly displayed qualities that flat out embarrass America.
Yes.
Time for a new and competent grown up candidate.
