I remembered my mom telling me "milk is a base, so if i get heartburn from acid, drink milk" did you also hear this lie? But milk is acid.
Milk is ph 6.6 so less than 7 see picture

This is due to the bit of fat which is always acidic. So it won't "fix" the acid, it ADDS acid but did you also hear this false "remedy"?

it wasn't said like that but yeah my 4th grade teacher said it once i'm pretty sure
milk sounds like it'd make it better initially but worse once your body processes it
Thanks!
Milk is a way of coating your stomach with a thin layer of fat. You are correct about it's pH. Baking Soda is a more direct route but produces gas (Burp). Better to knock it out with Candied Ginger, Don't overdo it. It has long been an aide to digestion. Try it,
Huh? The "fat" is is acid. And too diluted in milk to "coat" your stomach. I heard mucus coats it... but people get ulcers despite it.
Baking Soda is the only pH changer and that is only temporary. I used to think carbonated beverages helped but that is the same chemistry as baking soda. Reaction releases CO2. Natural remedies. I don't know of others
That is interesting.
