When I was a kid... a million years ago... if someone told me that they were going to put water in bottles and sell it for as much as alcohol. I would have laughed and said how stupid is that! the tap runs free all day. Boy oh boy did I underestimate how gullible people are and how much the basic understanding of human physiology is absent in the world.

I have no idea what could make water a luxury item to begin with, but I would say it's an utter idiocy to ship bottled water across the world and then having to factor in these large shipping costs into the sales price. There is a quality difference in water products, though - I always prefer my naturally carbonated mineral water (from a spring 300 km away).
