But things do go wrong, and people get bitten. I had a smooth hound clamp down on my finger once due to carelessness and a few bull huss have chewed by boots and tried to bite my face off.
So have you been bitten by a shark?

Only in a game I played with my kids when they were young.
The game went something like this. It was a board game where you moved around the board according to dice you threw. Every so often, there was a Tempt The Shark square where you pushed a button next to the plastic shark with its mouth open in the center of the board. After a random number of pushes the shark would close its mouth, bite you (you were supposed to tempt the shark by putting your finger in its mouth), and you had to go back to the start square. The winner was the one who got to teh finish quare first.
Nah, spent time in the gulf waters off the coast of Texas and Florida *different things entirely* The cobalt blue Atlantic waters off the coast of North Carolina, seen plenty plenty of rays, the occasional dolphin, plenty of small fish, but only ever seen the odd small (2 to 4 ft) hammerhead so far as sharks go. Did live in the SF Bay area but never ventured into thr sea there... lots of seals, sea lions and vast fields of jellyfish in places. Also that area is a part of what's referred ro as the "blood triangle" which is a very sharky area. Stinson Beach had a sign at the entry, one of those stick figure type warning signs... depicted a shark, mouth open, big triangles for teeth, and a human standing in it's jaws with it's arms up in apparent surprise. White sharks live there. Never went into the water of the bay or Pacific, mostly because I'm a warm water guy. Most that did go in had full body suits and many were in to wind sail... very cool sights to be seen though
lol no, I've swum with sharks at least a dozen times, probably more. Unless you're holding a fish, they really don't care about you.
No but if I ever went on Shark Tank, I'm sure they'll have taken nice bites of my ego!

Dear Poppy, I've never been bitten by a shark, and don't plan to any shark biting me. This nevertheless reminds me of Hannibal, the bull who jumped over a fence to join his beloved Mirabelle. "Hello Hannibal my love" said Mirabelle, "well" answered Hannibal "it's Hanni, because the bal (s) stayed behind on the fence"... :0D
I hooked into a Bull shark a month ago. I was 25 miles out and alone. He overpowered my gear. I even burned my fingers on the line trying to stop him. He took over 300 yards of braid all the way to the end and then snapped the last of it off my reel.
I bought a bigger reel.
I believe i’m in much more danger of being mauled by a bear, but being bitten by a shark is definitely a very tangible scenario for me.
Nope. No chunks missing. So far. I've snorkeled and scuba'd around sharks and barracuda. Been in the surf for hours at a time. Water skied on the ocean. Never knew it if a shark came close. I'd be surprised if they weren't cruising the surf.
No not bitten by a shark but the Great white shark was trying to kiss me and kept playing with my butt bumping into it meanwhile we were wrestling I kept holding her mouth shut
I've swam with sharks and they're really impressive animals. I watched other divers interacting with them too. Not for the faint heart.
Absolutely not! Anyone who’s been in that situation and lived to tell the tale I feel absolutely astonished that they are still alive!
I'm an Aussie , we may only be a UK Colony ( still ) but everyone of any merit has been bitten by at least a small shark.
Kick it in the head and move on.
Sure we need a NEW jaws series.
No, but I did get right next to one and try to pet it because I thought it was a dolphin.
I've been a bit anxious to swim in the ocean since.
No but lots of snakes have snaked me (the human variety pretending to be a friend, careful they are everywhere)
Not adventurous enough to be bitten by a shark, nor attractive enough to be bitten by women. I'm only bitten by mosquitos.
Yeah, the shark bit me where the sun doesn't shine and had a good meal that day.. I guess it's why I always have a woody..
I've been "bitten" by a 'shark' named Barbara Corcoran.
I only go in ankle deep to avoid being taken by a shark.
Yeah. One time, one of them bit me off all the way up to the neck!!
I got better.
Well I got some nasty scars on my legs. It wasn't from a shark bite though.
I don’t trespass in the shark’s territory. No chance of getting bit!
I don't swim and can't recall any bad experiences with a lawyer, so no.
Nope, I don't go to water where sharks live, and I never go deep, cause I can't swim.
does roleplaying count...
Thankfully, no.
Only human sharks, if that counts.
Nope, I have been lucky.
Not yet I haven't, thank God
Not for lack of trying
Nope I'm from England and never been abroad
Nope. I don't swim in the ocean.
I wish!
You wish to be bitten by a shark?
My closest encounter was a venomous brown snake that happened to arrive in my yard while i was in the middle of sitting an online exam during COVID.
@bddddd Yikes! Aren't Brown snakes like one of the most venomous in the world? In fact, doesn't Australia have the ten most venomous snakes in the world? I think I heard that or read it. You guys have all the cool animals! 😂
Aren't brown snakes one of the few species that actually chase and bite you almost for fun
There are anti venom treatments if you can get to a hospital reasonably speedily. But yes they are deadly if untreated. The snake ran off. We live near a nature reserve, so I guess that is a normal hazard. They are very fast moving, though.
never gonna happen i can't swim
Bitten in half
Nope ,, have you?
