Not only is food engineered to be more addictive, obesity creates sick people who live shorter lives. There are many benefits for the managerial class: More money for their big, for-profit medical machine and a weaker populous that won't (and more importantly can't) stand up for themselves if the country goes sideways.

I think the way they process food here is the problem. What they put on the meat, fruits, vegetables. I traveled recently and wasn't even watching my diet or anything, I ate hella fast food and junk food and yet I lost weight. I must say that the meat tasted a lot better there too, even in fast food. When I came back to the states I gained it all back in a few days even though I'm doing gym.

70% of black American women are obese, just look at any commercial. Pure gluttony.

Obesity is the reason why universal healthcare can never work in America. Also obese people have a higher carbon footprint. The government pays people disability for being obese so they can buy food to become more obese.

Because it always has. Americans, generally speaking, are not the sharpest crayons in the box. They will even poison their bodies daily with junk and think it is normal.

I would assume it's because of all the tens of thousands of fast junk food outlets, and with not knowing when they're actually had enough to eat!

Compared to Europe? We drive more and walk less, and eat more calorie-dense food. I'm just back from Paris and saw very little obesity.
