Diabetes is genetic in origin despite the myths about it.

I'm prone to pre-diabetes symptoms so basically everything I'm doing now. Insulin timing & control, blood sugar management, glycogen tracking, lowering inflammatory fat intakes, reducing stress hormones as well as anything else that would negatively interfere with any of my bodies insulin receptors, etc.

At age 70 I am the only living person in my family that has not had Diabetes, I have been told it's high & given a diet plan but my Dr. has not talked to me yet about having to go on Meds. Dennis

It would depend on the medical advice, but preferably just with diet and exercise

I would try diet and exercise first, especially if I was obese. Many people have been able to get off daily insulin injections just by losing weight.
If it was insufficient I would have to take medicine for it.
