Dose anyone else have a lifelong sense of Unease or Nervousness about getting nude in locker rooms?

Now that I'm a grown man in my late 30's a lot has changed about me since my highschool days but the strange " What the hell do I do here?" Factor his me with the same nervousness in a crowded public locker room today just as it did when I was a 17 year old boy. I've gotten far more confident at the many daily and work aspects of life as well as with more intimate interactions with women as a straight man but this is the one thing that hits me with the same oddity and discomfort. Getting nude in front of a bunch of random dudes feels just like dropping my clothing below the belt on a public street corner. I hunt for the shower with a curtain and if it's taken I feel weird to the point that I just drive home sweaty and do my showering at the house.

Man or Woman, dose anyone else still get uncomfortable with the idea of public locker room nudity in their 20's and older?

It means you're insecure about yourself. You're nervous about it cause your mind identifies that situation as a high risk for ego destruction. It means basically you're not entirely ok with what you are and there's parts within you that are trying to hinder you from exposing yourself cause You're scared that this external reflection of not being ok may destroy your ego. It basically means you gotta strengthen your own self worth so situation actually happening that can't harm you.

Well yeah, I'm surprised that this wasn't more obvious and in the front of my mind but now that you mentioned it I certainly know where it comes from! My routine infant circumcision went wrong and I got cut up pretty bad. Women have been sweet about it being interested in my personality and the rest of my body but nudity outside of that context I haven't gotten over because I'm still thinking of about it from the vantage point of a much younger mind because I blocked it out all together. If I think of it now in my mature mind I probably won't care just like anything else in front of random strangers.

So you have compassion with everyone else for this but not yourself. Why not with yourself of all people? You're more important than others to yourself. What do you feel others may think or say about you that makes you feel bad?
