Trending & News I think for me or us It is not the therapeuts fault if it does not work out if you yourself don't do the homework. We got the tools to do the homework, use, and I thought we were finally on our way, setting sail to our future when something went wrong. I today think he lack the ability to see things from my view that should have been in his interest too so something else beside the usual I've been told about and sure I could put the blame on the therapeut for not discovering that but discovery or not it is still the same tools you get to practice so it shouldn't make a difference, it is what you do with it.
I had to go once bc of my separation, but it served no purpose. I was more well-balanced than the therapist and ended up counseling HER. Ridiculous. I also watched several friends and family get "hooked" into seeing their therapist weekly and while it never helped them work out family/relationship issues, it helped the therapists pay for their homes, children's tuition, etc. etc. etc.
I should have become a therapist if I wanted to make money doing nothing...
Don't forget Freud started the therapy with neurotic women. Essentially it is "talk therapy" and that is how girls generally work things out.
It doesn't necessarily work for men as we are more action oriented. If you get a therapist he/she might just do what works for women. Few psychologists specialize on men but some do.
I lucked out with mine, she did approach differently for men.
If the issue is with a girl, it might help you to realize their advertising is deceptive. That might be enough.
For me it wasn't helpful in the slightest, but in the end it turned out that my issues weren't mental issues. I do stuff like cognitive behavior therapy automatically on my own since my brain just works that way. So when they tried that on me to cure something that wasn't a mental issue it had no effect, they just slandered me instead.

It depends from person to person. All they do is listen and put you on drugs. Before starting on therapy, first get a book (or compute), wright down your problem/s and then write down suggested solutions. With those solutions write down action points (things you are going to do the achieve the solution). And sometimes yes, medicine is a solution.
Some people don't want solutions. Some just want to complain.
It helps somewhat but you still need to do most of the work yourself. The therapist can give you many tools to work with but ultimately you have to do the work of introspection and digging deep inside yourself to make the growth happen within you.
bro why did you put "nah" first lol i accidentally almost pressed it
and yeah, i've gone for years. it took a while to find the right therapist, but its been absolutely necessary for me
Physical therapy for both a hamstring injury and a shoulder injury and in both cases the therapy was needed and very helpful bringing both injuries back to full use.
Yes I have, but I don't think it is very helpful for men. Therapists don't always understand men's problems. If you have anxiety, go to a psychiatrist instead and have him/her prescribe antidepressants. I find those much more effective.
Depends on which. Physical or psychological?
Psychological
Not for me, it’s nothing against the therapists I seen but I felt no benefit from. Other people may have benefited from it though
My wife called the therapist a "Pain tourist" amd said she was a waste of money.
It does work but it’s directly proportional to the honesty you put in
Never have. I don't think I need it
In the short term, yes; in the long term, no.
I've never been to therapy, so I wouldn't know.
Only on short turms
No...
