How do I permanently get rid of stubborn fruit flies at home?

I tried the baking soda, vinegar and soap method but every day there are still some in my bathroom or my mom's or the kitchen. The only thing helping now it's the blue light plug in that kills them any other suggestions? I am so over it

Vinegar traps work for me, but they can be a little tricky getting them made right.

I use a small glass with about an inch of cider vinegar in it. Wrap the top with stretchy plastic wrap. Hold it in place with a rubber band, which also helps seal it. Punch several holes in the plastic wrap with a sharp pencil. The size of the holes seems to make a big difference. They need to be large enough for the flies to get in, but not easily get out. Maybe try a few of them with slightly different sized holes.

Of course you need to keep the place clean with no old rotten fruit.

You don't. The flies will keep coming until you get rid of whatever is bringing them in. could be rotting fruit, used tampons fell out the bin, dead mouse... etc etc.

Once you've got rid of that, you simply get a shallow dish slightly deeper than a tea saucer. Give it a squirt of dish soap, fill the rest with cheap apple cider vinegar, and stir to mix.

The cheap stuff, as it smells bad and is used for cleaning, not cooking.

Leave dish in high concentration areas and it should drown the remaining flies. If you do not get a "hit" then you either have not enough dish soap, or too much vinegar.

Get a bunch of little jumping spiders. Not only are they cute, but they are harmless to humans. Not so to fruit flies or other flying/crawling insects you don't want around. Surprisingly, some people even make pets of them.

Or you can get a zapper... put it next to the trashcan in your house. But you know women...🙄

Automatic fly spray. Diffuser with peppermint, lavender, lemongrass, citronella eucalyptus or tea tree essential oils. These are the main ones I do that seem to help a lot with flies in general

Old school... cheap and effective. But the main thing you need to do is remove their food source. They breed fast. Put all food in containers or a refrigerator. Toss any overripe fruits and veggies. Clean your drains, garbage disposal, and trash bins. Those are the breeding grounds.

You make sure there is no food available to them -- usually this means either removing food waste or keeping it tightly covered. If you keep food waste in your kitchen until you take it out, the bin needs a tight cover. If you have a garbage disposal, be sure to keep it clear. Keep ripe fruit refrigerated.

Kill the source. I had a similar problem in one of my bathrooms. They were originating in the shower drain. I figured it out because I systematically eliminated all other possible sources. Poured a bunch of hydrogen peroxide down that drain and then, important, covered it so any survivors were trapped as would be any hatchlings. In a couple of weeks no more problem even when I uncovered the drain. Killing active ones only will not work.

They live and breed in your drains. They make drain fly killer that you can use.. this one is an expanding foam that works pretty good

Yes they are annoying. You have to be vigilant about making sure no food is left out. They breed and multiply really fast.

You can do the cling-wrap over a dish with little holes and some wine in it to attract them. Or balsamic vinegar. I also will let them congratulate and then just use my vacuum and suck them up

Get rid of all fruits and vegetables or put them in the fridge. Also get rid of the garbage. I killed most of the remaining fruit flies in a dish with apple-juice plus a drop of soap.

I want to get rid of them but it's hard I love fruit. The bananas I have tried putting them in the fridge but they get dark fast

Wash fruits when you come home from food shopping. The eggs of the flies often are on the fruits in the supermarket and you carry them home. So wash every fruit. Does this help?

Adult flies live for about two weeks. You need to trap them so they stop laying new eggs.

Are they fruit fruit flies, drain flies, or gnats? Buy the cheapest bottle of red wine you can find and pour about a centimeter of it into a glass. Leave that near wherever they congregate. Vinegar is bullshit and doesn't work

We have them at my home (I'm away at college) some vinegar in a bowl seems to get them and drown them
