How long should I wait after drinking to take cold medicine?

I have a cold, but I went out with friends after work. I only drank half of a Crown and water and then half of a beer, which isn't much at all. Then, I got home and realized I might want to take cold medicine before I go to bed. However, I am paranoid to do that after I have drank any amount of alcohol at all. What should I do?

You should be fine. The effects do compound but since you are already going to bed you are just going to pass out more easily. Just go light on the cold medicine, take the kids dose.

I usually take the kids dose anyway. Maybe I should just skip it tonight.

You could do it directly afterward, however you run the risk of spontaneous combustion.

I think one hour after for a small amount of alchool is more than enought if you just take the right dose so don't worry too much ;)

shouldn't be a problem. usually it is high amounts of alchohol consumption that messes with medicines
