Girls, does being athletic make you like a guy more?

If you learn that a guy you know is athletic, does that make him more attractive or does it really not matter?

If yes, is it simply because his skill in sports is a turn on, or is it the fact that him being athletic usually means he' a nice body and is healthy?

Just an FYI, what I mean by athletic isn't that he just has an athletic physique, even though that can be part of it. I mean more so, like you watch him play a sport like basketball or something and see that he's really good at it.

In a way yes. I love sport and there isn't a weekend that goes by that I don't go to a game of some sorts but going out with an athletic guy also has its own trials and tribulations. A guy that's into sport is obviously someone I have a lot in common with and it can lead to some fantastic conversations/debates plus finding somewhere to go/do is easy. But the constant diet and lifestyle control can be hard for some people to deal with. Not being able to go somewhere cause he has a game or not being able to plan ahead, having to constantly hear how some foods are bad for you or how you should eat this instead of that and of course how sex affects his game performance. As you can guess I've been with my fair share of athletic guys and while they are appealing a guy that's a sportsfan is in the same category

Understandable. I'm not one of those guys though. I'm not a serious athlete, I just play recreational.

Well you see in Ireland. GAA is the national sport and although its an amateur organisation the players play and train as professionals. Its taken very seriously. But a guy that plays a sport for the fun of it and a way to keep fit is much more appealing to me

Yep that's me. I don't play in any organized leagues. Just a few friends who get together once a week to play volleyball and then grab some beers afterward down at the pub.

No offense taken, It's not football or anything, I'm not really even really a huge fan of volleyball, its just one of those things I got invited to once, thought it was a fun thing to do with some people so I kept going. Like you said, I always like trying new things and getting out of the house. Anything is better than sitting and watching TV.

yess! knowing a guy is sporting does make him more attractive (well at least to me)

and partly the reason of this is that he'll have a nice sporty/healthy body but mainly for the simple fact that you can go out a do physical activities with him and friends aswell. instead of having a boyfriend that's won't get his ass of the couch, and complains when doing the slightest active thing (like my previous ex)

so yes I would consider an athlectic guy more appeling to me but in the end, looks fade but personality is forever.

The athletic body type is good, it's a turn on.but I really don't care much for sports. I mean I can't stand to watch a game of basketball or any type of sport, what so ever. But what really matters, is someone who is a nice guy and is caring. I think every girl would want a guy that is nice and down to earth and caring :)

Sports aren't my biggest interest, so in that respect it wouldn't make or break anything. The fact that he is passionate about it would be more of a turn-on for me, even if it's not a personal interest of mine. It's just attractive to see a guy's eyes light up over something.

I'd like to be able to dote on my man for being good at a sport. It is nice, but more of a bonus. There are so many guys that are athletic, I'd look for someone that stands out in other areas and if he is athletic its a plus with the nice body and cool skills.

I think that only applies , If someone already has a thing for athletic guys. If a woman doesn't , By watching him play basketball and he's good wouldn't make me like him more. I always dated pretty much athletic guys, But my boyfriend now, he doesn't play anymore but he still has the physique . By me watching him play didn't make me like him more , If anything he's body makes me like him more.
