I don't know; I think we could do with MORE butterfly dragons. And maybe centaurs that are actually half BULL, instead of half horse.
But what springs to mind for me is more vampiric diversity. The vampire as Hollywood knows it today is the product of four books that spanned the nineteenth century: Pollodori's "Vampyre", Varney the Vampire, Carmilla, and Dracula. Dracula was the last and best-known (and, frankly, best; it was a VERY good book), but most of the common elements are in all four, and not only do they work from the same attributes-and-mechanics angle, they're pretty much all the same "foreign noble" cliche, too; it almost reads like something ripped straight from the fears of a stereotypical 1950's Conservative.
Abhartach would've torn all four of them apart.
Frankly, I'd like to see less of Tolkien's influence in the usual crowd of fantasy creatures. You don't even have to make a huge jump; Wagner's dwarves against his would be WAY more interesting. Or Loge vs Sauron, or even Gandalf V. Gandalf, if you go a little further afield.
Zombies / Mummies
Werewolves
Vampires
Invisible people
Omnipotent extraterrestrials
For example, in Star Trek:
The Douwd
The Organians
The Q Continuum / Trelane's species
And I hate time travel bullshit because that really is bullshit.
Totally understand that. No one is that interesting when they are too powerful to really have threats.
Why invisible people though? Just because no one ever uses them very well?
As for time travel, I assume you mean the logical problems with time travel, right? And the fact that it probably is entirely impossible and therefore cannot make sense no matter how hard we try to make it make sense?
1. The physics of invisible characters is horseshit which is why I don't like them. For instance, to be able to see, light has to impinge on the retina... the light has to stop! But, if the character is invisible, then the light bypasses the retina and the invisible person is blind and freaking out.
2. There are no logical problems with time travel that sci-fi wants us all to believe. For instance, suppose I am on Earth. Then, I instantly transport to Mars. At minimum, light takes over 4 minutes to travel from Earth to Mars. On Mars, I look through a telescope aimed at where I just was on Earth. 4 minutes later, I see myself in the scope. Did the universe explode? No. All I did was see the image of me on Earth as I was 4 minutes ago. In other words, in these time travel stories, you never actually interact with beings from the past or future. Also, time travel is really problematic because even if I just travel back in time ten minutes, I am dead. Why? Because the Earth hasn't yet moved 18000 km to where I was and isn't there! So, I float in space and die.
But, more than all of that, it is just pure bullshit that violates the basic principles of all physics.
Exactly. Sp for invisibility, it'd have to be close to our real scienxe since we have invisibility cloaks. And then they would have to sense with sound or heat or something since we regular sight isn't an option.
And time travel is a mess, agreed. Teleportation is tied in with the problems you mentioned. Unless someone can get arpund the issues you mentioned, I agree.
I love seeing dragons, phoenix, Pegasus, werewolves, vampires and mermaids. But i could totally do without sirens, centaurs, banshees, chimeras, hydra, goblins, leprachauns, giants, cerbarus, ogre, yeti, and dwarfs
Shapeshifters are cool but totally piss me off
Shapeshifters piss me off because they can do almost anything. I dont like being easily tricked. Banshees annoy me with the screaming. Sirens are just evil. The chimera thing from teen wolf still makes no sense. He looked like the lizard on amazing spiderman lmao. Hydra annoys me growing back the heads. Im afraid of dogs so cerbarus was outta luck. Goblins and leprachahns scare me period! Warlocks too unless theyre hot like the ones on The Covenant. Giants are too tall. Dwarfs are too short and neither really belong in films. Yeti and Ogre is just a dumb thing tbh. Centaurs creep tf out. Yes no coming back from those 😂
It has nothing to do with dating them tf. Why would i want to date a pegasus, werewolf, Phoenix, dragon or mermaid? Vampire was the only dateable one i listed anyways. I just see nothing cool or likeable about the ones i dislike
Maybe trolls, the ones with the tail, seen them too many times

Zombies.
So many violent video games are being made with all the enemies as zombies for the nonsense excuse of “they’re already dead”. I want more creativity in video games, not more graphic mindless violence.
Still, even mindless violence can be great if executed well. You are correct that not a lot of innovation has happened lately. Hell, even Fortnite has done better at innovating than most other games! And the violence in Fortnite is really fine. Yes, Nintendo does pretty well. Most of the MarioKart and other games are pretty good.
When you consider the thousands of mythical creatures from cultures around the world it's just laziness to keep using zombies etc.
I don;t see what all the fuss is abourt zombies.
Orcs and Dwarfs are kinda lame.. I wouldn't say I never want to see them again, but yeah I could do without seeing them..
Bigfoot and vampires.
My agree click is only with 1/2 this.
🤗 I'll take it.
haha
That hooligan that played for the Argentina soccer club.
Zombies. Big foot.
Agreed! Is it because of how they don't make sense or how clichè they are or both?
Cuz I know zombies would realiistically rot and be unable to move in a couple weeks or less. And Bigfoot would have been caught by now unless it were a hyper-intelligent being with cloaking technology lmao
Pretty much. Hollywood zombies and big foot come across as a reach.
Mind you New Orleans zombies through voodoo are a different beast. They have a stronger place in reality. As even if they are based off belief one has been marked with magic it has more bit than a stumbling, rotten, often brain-eating, being.
*bite
honest politicians
politicians still make good villains... lol
definitely true
Vampires. Yes talking to you netflix.
Zombies. So unimaginative.
None of them. I'd rather see more.
All of them.
More is only good if well executed.
Some creatures need a LOT more than others, and common ones need more versions that aren't crap.
Zombies are the worst executed mythology creature in my opinion, almost no one does them in a way thats not boring or stupid. By that logic there is a deficit even in the most commonly seen creatures.
Yeah.
Zombies 100%
Meghan and Harry
Superheroes
I’m tired of them
