I think there are three things that have remained constant since I was a little boy.
Love the story about stained glass. That brings back memories. If you haven't been and if you have a bucket list (heck, even if you don't), add the cathedral in Chartres, France to the list. The stained glass there is arguably the best in the world.
I'm with you about the beach. We'd get along great I think.
wait wait wait... what about Legos, when or where, how did that start? if not during your childhood?
Someone give this man a cigar and glass of wine. Add to the list:
Lego
Building models
When I first answered the question I was trying to think big. Sometimes the little stuff matters.
Thanks for remembering @NathanDavis
the legend goes that... first time ever I came across some Legos, they were my older brother's Lego and I stole them, he always felt that way... and that I always liked to pick the red ones in particular, but I have no memories of this since I was around two years old... what I do remember is from age three and that's that they were MY Lego set and I would spend a lot of time sorting them by color, shape and size and counting them over and over, again... lol
I've never lost one Lego in my life, well, temporarily yes... but not for long
@NathanDavis This story gave me such smiles. Thank you!
I would let both of you build Legos and then I'd sneak in and knock them all over and run away.
I'll make sure to build up a small scale Tokyo city... then I'll be making Godzilla sounds while you go at it, lmfao...
I'd wear a banana suit while I did it too.
lmfao... let's make it a Cheeto suit instead!!
@NathanDavis
I'd wear the shit out of that.
@SnowedIn
I've always known your brothers, we've always had a grand design for you Snowy. Psychological warfare.
Kind of nature really. Nature and flying! Lol! I love to fly and tried at one point to get my pilots license. Now I just dream about it. But then yeah the ocean and a windy day the mountains and the warm sun beating down on me at the peak. Leaves turning colors the smell of pine needles. I have a noise maker to help me fall asleep at night and I set it to the crashing waves of a beach.
We'd get along because of the beach I think. I'm with you on that.
Girl we already do! 😂😂😂
True
😂😂😂
Oh wow! Thank you!!
Music and dance— in the form of ballet, ice skating, or trapeze. I love to watch. It’s captivating and brings me to tears sometimes.

And these
https://youtu.be/wOEKdWrtz6Uhttps://youtu.be/qk00gbDwGqMI’ve never been one to take something on and then loose interest in it, so it’s more that I absorbed all of those interests and keep them with me.
Stained glass is lovely, I agree.
Thank you for mho.

I love stained glass. My mother and I were going to take a class in making it just before she first got sick; priorities kinda shifted after that, and we never got a chance.
And it's not only pretty; I also love it because it's still called "stained glass". In any other context, "stained" is inherently negative; I can appreciate that there hasn't been any big effort to start calling it something more euphemistic. It's also not always religious in nature:

Or not completely religious, at least.
If we’re talking brands or products that I still enjoy/buy from my childhood, I can’t think of anything. But if you mean anything that I’ve kept from my childhood that I still enjoy, I’ve still got my favourite blankey from when I was about 5. I can’t sleep unless it’s on my bed. I don’t have to have it in my hands or anything, but just knowing that it’s somewhere on my bed while I sleep is comforting.
Starting at around 3 years old, I became fascinated with dinosaurs. Because of that, when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say paleontologist. It made me sound precocious. But, yeah, I thought paleontology meant going out and finding fossils.
I had lots of toy dinosaurs and, later, collected quite a few fossils.
So I still have a box full of some of my toy dinosaurs and I still have my fossil collection.
Fixing things. I used to have to fix broken things if I wanted anything nice as a poor kid. I still enjoy tinkering even though I no longer need to.
Some things are getting too tiny to fix though. Working on phones and similar micro circuitry is sometimes just not worth the trouble. Particularly when they make design choices that actively discourage doing your own repairs.
Clouds
Airplanes
The ocean (especially waves crashing against the rocks)

I have a Christmas ornament that my grandmother gave me when I was 6 years old. It's a boy angel kneeling and praying. I have since named it Aaron after my first son that we lost
I'm sorry for your loss.
Thank you.
No, not really. I have kept all the good memories in my mind that I display again and again. Otherwise I let it go. It's time to move forward😔

I grew up living underneath an Air Force Base. I spent some time away from home and the only thing I missed was the roaring sound from above lol.
