When you were a kid, where you ever in a secret club?

What bought this question to mind is. I just watched an episode of the Andy Griffith Show.

The episode had Opie joining a secret club and he was the keeper of the flame.

My answer to this question, I was part of couple of secret clubs.

One was a biker club

See we all wanted to be bikers and the Outlaws had their biker club down the block. When we between 8 and 10 we thought the Outlaws where the coolest people

The rule was to be member you had to have a bicycle and be willing to trick it out.

Yeah. LOL I was in grammar school. I don't know what grade, maybe 5th. Some friends and I started a club called the Heaven's Devils, a play on Hell's Angels. Yeah, real original. There wasn't any particular agenda. It just seemed like the thing to do. WWII German helmets and fake Iron Crosses were popular then, as were WWI airplanes. So some of us had helmets and crosses and we rode our bikes around dog fighting and playing rag tag. We might have even carried around toy guns.
I don't remember much about it. It didn't last long. LOL

There are kids who weren't? I don't think you're legally allowed to call yourself a boy if you haven't had to memorize at least two or three secret handshakes.

Of course! One in particular was girls only and the initiation was you had to kiss 10? 20? (some ridiculous number) of boys and collect a rock for each one.

The mothers interrogated a couple of girls and put an end to our club after a group of us had ran through a picnic and pecked every guy on the cheek or arm. I was maybe 7? 😏
