I mostly had it during my childhood and earlier teen years... around ages 16 to 21, things just got so much more better for me, but remnants only, in the background... so yes, safe to say that was my early youth and a lot of the music I listened to during those times and age were related to my moods
https://www.youtube.com/embed/mx04rGwuqtU
and even my depression had some moods, lmao... and it would hit me differently from time to time, a lot of the music was very dark, very heavy and pretty much, despair... some more dramatic, and few just very seriously concerning, lol... and nobody should know about these songs
but not all of them were like that, many other were bittersweet and soothing, more comforting and/or introspective, with that hint of hope or resignation too... while others were quite angsty... and definitely a release of high energy
there were a few types of music and songs that would keep me, "here" rather than "lost" in the middle of everything and nothing, but I'll share one... a melodic one that, fortunately, nowadays... more than anything, I do feel it as, just a beautiful song22 Reply- 1 mo

When I was a teen and depressed I used to get comfort from Billy Talents songs There's nothing to lose and Fallen leaves. I hate everything about you - Three days grace. Also used to like City by Hollywood Undead.

Probably. I was severely depressed over losing my best friend to her insane boyfriend about 20 years ago and I put together a collection of music that I listened to constantly for months on end to help me get through it. Mostly stuff from Radiohead and Death Cab For Cutie.

I personally stuck to music that sounded happy. What you listen to can affect your mental health so it's best to listen to something cheerful when you're depressed than something sad or anything that would trigger you. Listen to music while cleaning the house or taking a walk outside, it's good for you.
00 Reply Mostly love songs to let my tears out for Uma Thurman because I miss her if you could see my room and understand and know me and how I feel for her with my words you would definitely agree to the fact why I cry over her it's not just silly celeb crush it's literally absolutely full blown love for this women then listen to other different ones also

I have used music for that purpose, I listen to music for any purpose anyhow.
I don't refer to genres in that case because depression itself means nothing defined to me, what means something to me is what I feel in relation to what I live, which is ever-changing. From and for these feelings, I used music to travel to melancholy, wrath, soothing, happystalgia, combativeness, sorrow for example?
00 Reply Sometimes I'll listen to a sad song playlist to sorrow in my feels and accept that I'm feeling sad.
Other times I'll try listen to hype music to try being myself out of my sad phase10 Reply- 1 mo
Prob sadcore genres because those were relatable at the time. re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft
10 Reply Currently have depression, and I don't listen to music. Well I listen to music because I enjoy it, but not because I have Depression. Instead of music, I use video games to not feel as awful for a while.
10 ReplyI try to sit and practice music, on the piano, and that picks me up somewhat.
10 ReplyFortunately I have never suffered from depression , I reckon if I did I'd listen to something powerful with energy , ACDC / Bon Jovi , " Livin on a prayer " .

10 Reply I listen to sad music or go for talking to a friend instead
10 ReplyLess than half of the times. Thematics of defeat.
Upbeat music is as fitting in these moments as it is during a funeral.

All sorts, save for most modern pop. Been really into classical lately.
And for anybody reading this who's having a hard time, it's alright, you can make it.
00 Reply It all depends on what had triggered the depression. Going through a separation, so Ghosts ‘Life Eternal’ knocks me for six and forces me to reset.

EVERYTHING!! If it's good, it's in my collection.
00 Reply I usually listen to ambient music if I'm in bed. Any other genre in the car.

I tend to try to not listen to music much. I live with depression and Music never helps it.
