Did you ever try something new just as a "one-time thing," but enjoyed it so much, it became a hobby, what was it?

I went to a country festival yesterday, cause my cousin happened to have a spare ticket. Everywhere I'd go, everyone was line-dancing and it looked so much fun, I joined a workshop going on there and was able to spend a good hour dancing along with the others.
I liked it so much, I signed up for line-dance classes in my own town. Lol.
Do you have any hobbies you found that way - by accident?

As a Southern man, I applaud your country dancing, though I find line dancing to be hokie. I prefer some hoedown flatfooting to Bluegrass. There's just something really cool about the dancers being a part of the music, providing the beat with their feet. But to answer your question, perfumery was an unplanned passion of mine. I was literally spending more on scented candles than on one 50lb box of wax and fragrance oil. I started making my own candles because it was cheaper. Then I realized that fragrance is a truly interesting subject. I could go on and one about it, but suffice it to say, when you combine something like cedar and lavender, the act of putting them together creates a whole new experience. Or let's say you combine leather and gin with peony -- then you're evoking a memory of a strip club. Hopefully that makes sense.
