Lent begins tomorrow.
What was your reason for giving something up if you did?

I gave up running 🏃♀️ while in the hospital for half a month or so.
Severe asthma and lots of the products weren’t really working for me. (2 - 2.5 weeks). Was kind of sad.
Not just the running but being outside. I wasn’t a runner but I did do that a lot as a kid like most kids back in the days did. The main game was tag or racing lol
so with that childlike energy and joy, it was really difficult to stay in the room/bed all day and within white-lit walls and beeping noises/calls, and so on.
When I was discharged I also got to see if my family “truly loved me” and/or had forgotten about me. I missed and gave them up too. I was so young so I wasn’t sure what the family dynamic would be like. They all cheered kind of happily and of course I was met with food my mom had made and some take out. It was kinda nice. Nothing like “welcome home,” but it felt like that.
Did that make it all worth it? NO. lol
But That’s what I thought about when I read this question.
Every 3 months, i rotate to a new hobby out of my main 4 because i need a break in order to still enjoy it
Yeah, I gave up tinkering with vintage items for years and for no particular reason. Perhaps the disappearance of interesting stuff from local flea markets, thrift stores, yard sales and the curb on trash nights had something to do with it. Eventually I needed an outlet and revived some of my old interests one by one and it just grew from there. Skills I gain in any particular area can often be used elsewhere, so I find new things to do quite often.
Probably give up GAG, as well as consuming food later after dinner. Every year is different, in the hope that a positive change/permanent change occurs. Not going to give a giant detailed list here for this Lenten season, but choices are in place.

I have before, it isn't easy and that is the point honestly. I don't do it every year I'm not Catholic but Christian. I once gave up pop that was easy.
having pets/horse riding. reason as moving out of abusive parents house.
I apologize for that. I read it and it made me emotional and I just thought: that’s so unfair. It’s unfair to have that happen from parents. I’ve seen some of your comments and I think you’re a phenomenal person aside from and after that, I’m sure. Especially from reading about your wholesome hobbies and even having such. Thanks for this share. And hope you have a safe and restful holiday week/weekend. 🫶💯
Thank you. I hope your week/weekend is also good to you 😁
Salty chips and cheesy dips. They were making me FAT.
Yes. Every Lent, and a few other tines when my use of something was getting to be too much
Yeah, cigars have been my usual go to for Lent in years past
