What is something you gave up on?

I gave up on thinking that there are real and true people in the world that really give a shit about other, beyond how they think it effects them personally.
You know the type of people that act like they care about everyone and everything, and have all these opinions, which is fine and good as long as it doesn't directly affect them... or they fail to realize that they only have that opinion because something has affected them in away that makes it really to them... but most people don't give a shit so get over it.
Like somebody has a cat get it hit by a car in Florida, and some one is California is all like OMG its a tragedy! Yeah, that suck to bad about the cat, sounds pretty shitty right? But don't sit here acting like you actually gave a crap about that cat in Florida as long as you never had to know about it... honestly it has has zero impact on your life so act like I should care.
I see what you mean, I give advice but I don't care, I do have sympathy for people with certain things, for example, loved ones dying and stuff cause I do tend to put myself in people's shoes and I don't know what I'd do if I lost my loved ones, I also have almost shed tears in the humanity videos before which I am ashamed of but you actually start to care if you put yourself in people's shoes in a realistic point of view because you think of the pain the person is going through, but tbh there's lots of shit that doesn't deserve sympathy like breakups and stuff, shit happens and you'll live but knowing that I feel sympathy for people at certain points is what let's me know that I'm not the only one, not to mention all the war stuff and how people started booking airbnbs in Ukraine just to give em the money, people put their heart before their money and if someone is willing to give money then it's from the heart cause honestly money comes first, it's the truth.
Well its one thing to have sympathy for other or empathize... but unless your really and true going to do something about it then safe it. Like the war it terrible, but these people will act like the care, but suggest putting troops on ground to at least give civilians safe evacuation routes.. and they will be like hell no!!! They are willing to pay any type of price or sacrifice about it? No they will empathize, but they care more about fuel prices than the war in the Ukraine because that the only way it really effect them. They will cry for the Ukraine but honestly all they want is cheap gas.
They cry on social media and post about it, but they will not sacrifice anything more than thoughts about it... so do they really care as long as it doesn't directly effect them? No they will not, they just want cheap gas.
That's something completely different, reminds me of Travis scott when he cried so shitty after the people dying at his concert 😂
That man can not act even if his life depended on it lol
I gave up on ever running again. About 6 years ago I went to an orthopedic surgeon to see if there was a fix for my sore Achilles tendon. He sent me to PT and I did that for a couple of months. I started back running on a track and it went well for a while until one day that familiar pain came back and I had to stop. I went back to the doc and he said he could go in and clean up the scar tissue but I would just tear it up again running another marathon. Now I have an artificial hip so now I am really done.
It doesn't mean you gotta leave the field you enjoy, you can participate in marathons, just not as a runner, ever tried like being an announcer or something, or a camera man, you can probably start a YouTube channel by recording the races, you would still be part of the marathon, and possibly even start your own community about it on YouTube you can follow by car or like an electric scooter, camera men don't always catch everything, you can be that person that does, don't let all the races you participated in just go down the gutter, if you enjoy marathons, just being around one I'm sure would make you happy dude.
Not to mention that you get money based on views, having your own little community on YouTube sounds pretty cool
Now that's the stuff, Goodluck in the race bro, you should get yourself a helmet cam so you can record your history, just for personal self accomplishment.
That's good on you bro, age 50 and biking miles, not everyone can say that
You got this bro, does your route got uphill?
That's good, I'm guessing it's going to be on TV right?
That's cool, I'm sure all types of marathons are supported by some kind of chain I think
I gave up on a career twice. First I wanted to be a pharmacist, but I failed the math 3x and I was almost done, I was interning at a Walgreens. I just had to finish the pharmaceutical calculations. Measurements for drugs are kind of hard - at least for me! Then I tried cosmetology in '12, not necessarily for hair, but I thought a makeup artist would be cool. But then I got pregnant and that turned into a miscarriage. I just ended up working w/my husband and we have an auto shop. It wasn't my dream though. People think money is everything. Sure, we got our bills paid, but it's all stress and no free time. Do what makes you truly happy, b/c money comes and goes like the weather.
Thing is that money rules the world, without money you can't do anything, you are forced to live for money, it's sad, I hate math so I see why you quit but perhaps try again with a little help, I heard Adderall helps you focus, I don't know if it's against the rules to use drugs to calculate the drugs tho lol, you have my dream job tho
Oh no I was stupid 1x in my early 20's and took 2 of this girl's Adderall's.. I had a seizure! Never again! I don't think I'll ever go back to school, but when I talk to younger people, I always tell them to stay in school. Do something. Facebook and TikTok aren't gna pay your bills. You want to be a mechanic? It pays well if you are self employed. My husband rebuilds transmissions. Today all of the new cars are becoming computerized, so they're going to need mechanics that know about that stuff. You should do it!
Well actually a mechanic shop is a small part of my vision, I wanted to buy totalled/wrecked vehicles and fix then to then sell em for profits, a rebuild business, y'all should do that, y'all have the space for it, it would make y'all even more money, who knows, y'all might make that your main business if it's worth it.
I gave up on trying to be friends with some people who backstabbed me.
Perhaps that's for the best

A career as an illustrator. I loved to draw but I realized in university that I'm not as skilled or as gifted as some of the best students there.
So I went with my other major which was in computer science where I ended up getting job offers left and right based on some work I published and was able to choose based on the most desirable offer.
I don't regret it at all since I can still draw and paint for fun and I enjoy my job as a software developer well enough. The idea of trying to make a living by drawing no longer seems appealing at all to me now in hindsight.
The art major actually served me to some respect though since the way I broke into my industry was publishing software and algorithms that were intended for use by artists. They weren't particularly clever from an engineering standpoint but hit a deep need that many artists have which I recognized since I faced the same problems myself. Now I make a living making software tools for artists to use which still keeps me close enough to my passion for visual arts.
You probably have no idea how fortunate you are. Glad life is working out for someone.
That's better than being an illustrator tbh
Cheers!
Finding a woman to like me. Aka, love.
Also, trying to be respected by others in society.
There's probably nothing you can do about society but love is still possible, you have given up too soon if you are still alive
Eh I tried
It was love for a while but now I'm having second thoughts
You are too young to be giving up on love
You are in your early 30s, you ate young, a human life span is 75 years of age, you aren't even close, you are young, do you feel like you are some kind of 2000 year old wizard or something lol
Are*
Don't rush love, and don't get unmotivated either, love doesn't come with age and the kids, you don't like the idea of adopting I'm guessing? You can even get newborns if I'm not mistaken.
Cheerleading and drama (separately)
Why you quit tho?
The other girls weren’t nice to me and I never did cheer again. I needed to focus more on dance anyway.
I never really understood why girls were so mean to each other smh
Me neither honestly. This crap is ridiculous. Also the same thing happened again in dance team and I had to leave that too haha
Why don't you stand up for yourself, sat something back 😆
I do! But since I’m usually really nice, when I finally do stand up for myself everyone else just thinks I’m being a jerk. Coaches didn’t help either so nothing I could do 🤷♀️
I don't see anything wrong with you being a jerk to jerks, it's what happens
Haha yeah, but it was 6 on 1 so
I see your point
Women.
