Like how much freedom can I have with building the house and world around me?

I would lead house Miravelle. A noble house of mainly fearies (as in midsummernight not only tinkerbell) part of the summer court.
Home on the isles of Asterides. Its an island group with geography similar to that of many greek islands from our world, but with more woodlands. The house is known for their powerful celestial clairvoyance, star magic, starlight ilusions and conjuration.
We have many different species in our ranks. From pixies, satyres, noble fearies which are similar to your standart fantasy elves with usable but spectral butterfly like wings, and other woodland creaters. We also have some seafolk in our house which are more allies instead of actual part of the house.
Our sigil is a stary nightsky which are engulfed by wings. It looks like the wings build ab open dome that has the nightsky on their underside.
Our architecture has three distinctive styles that are sometimes interwoven with each other.
First we have our magic and sacred sites. Used for rituals and conjurations. These are mostly ancient greek style temples and architecture. Some big plazas with runes set in stone on the ground and some places for starseeing.
The second distinct style is that of our woodland creatures. Houses that reach from the ground with grown plant and wood into the crowns of the highest trees. At their main height they are big elegant treehouses. Think ewok buildings but in elegant and bigger.
The third structure is my main house and also mostly from wood. Most often light wood with dark mahagoni stile contrast. Its entrance can be used as an open ballroom with wooden floors, wide archs that combine into a massive dome. At the side place for tables orchestra and a balistrade to look from the arches down at the dancer. At the back they the more private areas start. With dining rooms, baths, and my families and staffs private quarters.
While we often stay on neutral terms with other houses, the summer court can generally be considered allies and even rarely friends because of our trades in mages, conjurations and clairvoyance.
We clearly state that we are not dealing in spycraft which we are actually not doing. Not even in private.
Ironically for an island folk we do not have much navy. Some fisherboats and a few small ships for guest transport. Our conjuration allows our higher ranks to teleport and generally each island has a teleportation circle. Without input from a mage themselve they only work at night though. So civilians are either fisher, use the few boats (whish is not a reliable transport option because they travel irregular) or travel by night with the conjuration circles.
The few times we where involved in wars we were always the defenders, and we made the enemy gave up by not givong them rest at night and them using their strenght against our conjurations and illusions. Once their troops got tired we used our few elite bladedancers to give us small real victories in battles until they gave up. Its a kind of attricion warfare but only one side actually suffers attrition.
If we would need to attack someone we would not nearly be as strong, as most tactics dont work offensivly but even without much real walls or siege defense we are really hard to conquer.
In the end we hope we have to fight and prevent most potential wars by avoiding them with clairvoyance.
