Is there anything to do where you live on Saturday night?

i feel like where i live there seems to be less and less every year , years ago there used to be a bowling alley , a movie theatre , several different bars downtown

the bowling alley closed last year , the movie theatre closed during covid and the bars seem to have gradually disappeared over the years and now only some small chain restaurants left and a small pub / sports bar but its lame now as it had its pool tables removed during covid and never brought them back

so Saturday nights here super lame unless you know of some private parties to go to , its cold here today so i didn't even bother leaving the house as there is nothing to do anyways

I tend to be a loner, and like exercise in the evenings sometimes. I have driven down to Laguna and ran the 1,000 steps (really 250) down to the beach and back up. I have a Fred Astaire Dance studio near me also, and have on occasion gone there

Yeah, but not being able to go out during Covid has made people even more lethargic. A few businesses also went bankrupt, unfortunately.

things seem to still be recovering here post covid , there was an attempt made to open a caesar type bar here in 2024 but it closed down due to weak sales in 2025 and now location is for sale but still no interest in the location despite fact its a newly renovated building on a main street with outdoor patio, been listed as available for months

the businesses that remain seem to be owned by older people who've had them for a very long time and seem to have absolutely no new ideas as to how to improve the scene here and make the place more happening , need some new blood and new ideas

a city an hour north that has a small college , a group of younger people got some dj's and reached out to some bars and started bar nights on there own at a couple spots , there doing a club night on Friday at a sports bar downtown and a country night Saturday at another bar and there both always packed according to there posts online , they have a page with a large social media following

and i'd note that city to the north , the bar scene there like entirely died during covid or even a bit before it , like every club there had closed down. so there younger people on there own revived the bar scene and it worked , places they use and packed every night with younger people who wanted to come out and party

so even in a city where the scene has totally died it can be brought back to life if the right people come forward with new ideas and some new blood

We went out last night to see a few bands play. There is always something to do.

isn't many concerts here , is a small resort nearby it sometimes has concerts but tickets really expensive , i didn't go to any concerts in 2025 , been to some years ago when tickets more affordable like i used to pay $20 $30 plus fees for tickets now same tickets are $50 -$60 over more plus fees and some of the venues its even the same groups that played years ago but after covid prices surged to crazy highs
