What weird hobbies do you have?

I will get into long range shooting next year. Is that weird? I dunno. I was expert in the military with a rifle and pistol (and grenade) but that was only out to 300 meters but also without a scope. I will start at about double that and perhaps move up to over 1000 meters. I have one weapon that is capable of some of that but is a poor longterm choice.

I will be getting a better caliber rifle for what I want to do and so a new rifle to go with it. I have already selected and bought the scope (which cost more than the rifle) and a suppressor (silencer) which required me getting another background check, more fingerprints setting up a trust for the suppressors so my family can have and use them as well. The suppressor will reduce the kick of the rifle among its obvious use in noise reduction.

I am traveling a lot this year so won’t start until next year. This may lead to a trip or two to other states if I want to see how far I can shoot in long distance. For that I will need a whole other setup even beyond what I am getting now which is fine. I will likely make my own ammunition and have done so in the past. I have the equipment and know how to that if I want. It is all just a test of skill.
