Can you do Christmas anytime?

So my girlfriends parent suddenly canceled the Christmas get together and said basically we can do Christmas anytime. But I don’t agree Christmas comes once a year secondly this family get together I was looking forward to because my own family has stopped doing get togethers because of Covid.

I mean, everyone's different, but no. Not to me. If Christmas isn't in December on the 24th, then it's some other random celebration pretending to be Christmas and we might as well just wait for next year.
