When do you shop for Christmas gifts and decorations?

People who buy on Black Friday scare me lol. Have you began your shopping yet or do you have any shopping to do this year at all?

My family usually reuses the same decorations so that's usually never an issue. Gifts are, obviously, not the same.

we, traditionally... mostly get gifts for the little and younger ones because they're the ones who really get excited and love it the most and so genuinely, also because most kids and teens are broke lmao

among adults, except your SO perhaps, we just indulge a bit and spend on something for ourselves (this is a family tradition, lol, that comes from times which were less fortunate, financially speaking, and whatever we save from gifts we definitely overspend on big food gatherings during the holidays weekends, yes not just Christmas Eve)

so... the usual is for the youngsters to know exactly what they want and most of the time they know it in advance, and in my case I just get it online as soon as I know, could be September, October or November, I'll just order it

as for decorations... there are some of them in the family that are, allegedly... older than me or at least as old as I am... lmao

Decorations we reuse although usually we have to buy one or two new strings of lights. That's coming to an end as we've been replacing with LEDs.

We do buy my wife a new nativity every year. This year we just got the 30th one! (And there are two that hang on the tree.)

We buy our wrapping paper for the next year at the end of the current year. After Christmas and the prices tend to be lower.

As for shopping, most of it usually during November. I like it the shopping done and wrapped after Thanksgiving/the first week of December. But we know the kids so well that throughout the year we grab things and fill up the top of our closet. My wife and the kids normally wait until the last minute buying stuff for me, but their gifts are amazing. I buy for my wife throughout the year.

I shop all year, squirreling away, paying attention to peoples likes and wants. Always hoping for that “This is awesome!”

Yeah I haven’t started. Although I live with a family so decorations isn’t an issue for me. Just getting my gifts. I have been window shopping g for a bit now and I think I have ideas.

I begin shopping online the week before Christmas for gifts but I buy decorations in November.
