Do you still send Christmas Cards? ? How many do you send?

We used to buy a box of 48 and I would still have to go to the store and buy more. Now we might send ten. Everyone we sent them to has died.

I used to mail cards to a couple dozen friends and family. Then, shortly after my wife and I got married in 1996, we started making our own between roughly 2002 to 2017.

My wife is a photographer and Photoshop wizard. We would brainstorm ideas and then collaborate on creating whimsical images featuring us and our cats, with her doing the Photoshop work. I would write a poem or something for the inside. We had them professionally printed and folded. We had a great time doing that for over 15 years. The cards were very creative and people loved them.

I would write a letter and print copies on our printer on Christmasy paper. We enclosed those in many our cards to let people know what we had been up to.

I think we mailed between 120 and 130 cards a year. But it was a lot of work and expense. We finally burned out and haven't sent cards for close to five years.

I used to send about 40 cards each year. Now, I send 5. Not because people have died... because we exchange "cards" and "news" electronically now, via text and email and social media.

We used to send about 40 per year. We stopped completely when the economy tanked in 2009. I couldn't afford the stamps, let alone the cards.

We are back to sending cards, but Is say less than 10. That number is lower due to the lots of friends and family members (death and politics).

Kind of, but not really... as I fill them out and hand deliver them to only close family members or friends. I don't 'send' anything via snail mail. I use it as a chance to visit, catch up and give them the card.

Maybe 5 tops, might even be 3 though, depending on the year.

I used to. My wife hated doing it and my kids think it's weird. And yet, they get excited when one arrives for us. So, we buy a couple boxes and those usually accompany the gifts we give to teachers and the mail carrier, etc.

This will be the third year I haven’t mailed them out with a family letter. It was my mothers thing.. and hurt too much to continue. As silly as that might sound.
I do give them to people in person though. It’s a nice touch to a plate of cookies.

My favs are to hand them out in drive-throughs and other odd places where you see the same people often. Those little sparks of being thought of are priceless.
