Who's spending Christmas alone this year?

I have 5 days off for the holiday, I have a few plans with friends. On Christmas eve/day I'll most likely be spending it alone, despite having my divorced parents living in the same city! This not my first time spending X-Mass alone. Peace of mind is priceless and sometimes you have to be alone to kot deal with drama or toxic behavior.

I will also be alone. My boyfriend passed away shy of a month ago. I do have family two hours away, but like you said sometimes distance is necessary. Related or not, all we can control is what we do, what we say, and what we tolerate in our space. Toxic behavior is literally draining. Feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to or vent. I hope you have a relaxing break away from work. Do things that make you happy and comfortable.

Thanks, I'm so sorry for your loss. Indeed you have to do what's right for you, I'd rather be one doing what I enjoy bs putting on an act snd possibly getting in a fight. Not worth the risk. I hope you have a relaxed and joyous Holiday too.

Thank you & yes, life is too short and fragile. Focus all your love and energy on those that reciprocate it. Even if that’s to yourself which is a hard thing I’m attempting to learn how to do, love myself the way he did. Taking the love for another and applying it to yourself. I’m proud of you though because I understand first hand with my own family that setting boundaries makes people uncomfortable. Most especially the toxic ones. They have to be accountable to respect you and for some that’s just not possible. They’re too stuck in themselves.
