absolutely yes... that's family time, and it is also GREAT FOOD time... lol also big chances to meet friends and relatives that I don't get to see that often as they live somewhere apart

Yes, every year we all get together at Mom’s house. She puts the family pool up and we have a BBQ lunch before we swim. This year I won’t be swimming as I’m recovering from childbirth, but I’m still looking forward to seeing everyone.

I look forward to going to sleep and waking up rested and breathing. Christmas is too far away.  Who says anyone will live til then? Many people will not, so live fully in the right now.

No. Not at all and certainly not anymore.

Many reasons.
1. It's just my wife and I.
2. Global Warming; we don't have cold white Christmases like we did 55+ years ago when we were young.
3. Poverty. I am a contractor which means I have no paid time off — you work, you get paid; you don't work, you don't get paid. Contractors often have no work around this time of year.
4. Property Taxes. I have to pay property taxes at the end of the year.
5. Cold and snow. I hate winter, period. I hate the fucking cold and the fucking snow.
6. Too many bad memories during adulthood and too many memories of happier times when I was young and my family was still alive. I am constantly reminded of how I have fallen and how the world is getting worse and worse thus reminding me why I didn't have kids (to protect them for this shit).

Yes because of the family reunions. No because all the commercial hype around Christmas starts way too soon. We already see Christmas decorations mid October.

Not completely but on the whole it's about getting back to family and old times. A few relatives and family members as well as pets have died around those dates

I try to take advantage of the sales around the holidays. Providing that is something that I need.  i used to work Christmas so that the younger guys could be home with their families.
