Yes, every year we all get together at Mom’s house. She puts the family pool up and we have a BBQ lunch before we swim. This year I won’t be swimming as I’m recovering from childbirth, but I’m still looking forward to seeing everyone.

No. Not at all and certainly not anymore.

Many reasons.
1. It's just my wife and I.
2. Global Warming; we don't have cold white Christmases like we did 55+ years ago when we were young.
3. Poverty. I am a contractor which means I have no paid time off — you work, you get paid; you don't work, you don't get paid. Contractors often have no work around this time of year.
4. Property Taxes. I have to pay property taxes at the end of the year.
5. Cold and snow. I hate winter, period. I hate the fucking cold and the fucking snow.
6. Too many bad memories during adulthood and too many memories of happier times when I was young and my family was still alive. I am constantly reminded of how I have fallen and how the world is getting worse and worse thus reminding me why I didn't have kids (to protect them for this shit).

Yes because of the family reunions. No because all the commercial hype around Christmas starts way too soon. We already see Christmas decorations mid October.

Not completely but on the whole it's about getting back to family and old times. A few relatives and family members as well as pets have died around those dates
