Why would my mom have condoms in her purse if she’s married?

She also says she wants to have more kids with my step dad. And she’s religious so sex outside of marriage is against our religion, she’s really religious so I don’t think she’d do that.

Why would she have condoms? I don’t even want to think about anything gross cause she’s my mom and I just can’t think of her that way.
