God asked me when I was less than 15 for my wife. I was so obsessed with getting married. Then I read Romans1 and saw that a man can love a woman and serve and worship her above God.

I laid marriage down that very day. It was not very hard to do but I didn't know what else to do with my life.

When I was 21, God showed me who my wife would be. She is infinity times infinity times better than my imagination.

Those He requests things from are the luckiest people on the planet

Even better is not to do anything immoral even if you think you're sure it's God's command. Because such a God that would ask you to do immoral deeds, doesn't exist. And just because you think you're absolutely sure, doesn't mean it's actually true. People think they're sure of all kinds of things all the time and are proven wrong.

Normally I don't care what people believe in, but if their beliefs promote immoral behavior, then it's a problem that requires intervention.

Well, we know God better now and know He is good and love. And all of these should guide us.

You make an excellent point that God won't ask someone to be immoral. He is a holy God. And He won't ask you to kill anyone. He is not a murderer.

But there are things He could demand you lay down for the kingdom.. we must be willing to do that or we may never be great in the world to come. Not out of compulsion but out of love for Him, from a sincere heart.

Yes exactly that should be the guideline. If you're asked to do bad things by someone portraying to be God or his messenger, perhaps you're being fooled :P

And it's true that if you want to experience God's love, there are some requirements and you might need to let go of some worldly attachments, but what I do disagree is that God would ever demand that.

And what I disagree even more, what many religions promote, is the idea that God would doom you to hell for the rest of eternity if you don't obey his commands and wishes. Because that wouldn't be a loving action. If you love your kid and he behaves badly, you might give him a tough lesson, but you'd never doom him to eternal hell, no matter how badly he behaved. So following the guideline that God is loving God, you can safely conclude he'd never do that.

Hell is for the wicked. Behaving badly and enjoying it is wickedness. Imagine the guy who blew up world trade centre sharing Heaven with you and having the life to do much more. Imagine all the suicide bombers and guys who take to streets with arms and just spray bullets. Imagine rapists and murderers living in Heaven, as sick as they are.

You'd thank God for Hell after that. And God isn't just sending them there. Jesus died for them to make them holy and children of God. But if they reject Jesus, they won't be pure for Heaven and no impurity can enter there.
