Good and interesting question. Although I have no experience with polygamy, I don't think having three spouses would be an emotional problem. What would certainly be is the practical side: - financial because every spouse would need food, clothes and enough privacy. - jalousy among the ladies, be it only because there would probably be a favourite. - sexual, because the three women would also have sexual desires, and I don't think I'd be able to handle that much sex, except of course if the ladies had intimate pleasures with each other also. This could still maybe lead to some nice fun.
On the other hand, being four adults in such a configuration (1 man and 3 women), lots of the family's chores would be much easier to handle, and always there could be someone to help in case of need or accident. For the children also there could always be someone to look after them.
Nevertheless I'm not sure such a family would last many years, except if there were lots of money, plenty private spaces, and very little emotional involvement...
Interesting take. To call it a family then say that it may work if there is little emotional involvement. I agree with you. Women need more than a man they have to share with 2 others. Maybe if the women have bfs. What is fair is fair
@Kittycurious Right you are, but I understood the question as 1 guy and 3 girls. Already a tough problem. My answer considers a closed family. Emotionally there could be surprises in any direction, but if the girls priorities (as far more women do than admitted by the way) first of all wanted security and children without having to bother too much about a man, that foursome configuration could be an option. Now, the girls having boyfriends outside that configuration is nothing new. That happens in any form of family, tradional or not. By the way I've known such a woman who left her husband with her 3 children because she only wanted children and certainly not a man in her house, and she wasn't lesbian, but had nevertheless the luck of having a good job. Being part of the question's given configuration may have been good for her.
Maybe it's super powers for real, and people was gifted with the power of self duplication or multiplying then yeah. Marriage polygamy would be Cake Walk. I can't see myself marrying more than one woman. If I got 6 or 7 women pregnant then by right I would have to marry all of them in a polygamy marriage. I thought harems only exist in anime, not in real life. polygamy relationships or marriage is a force in my opinion. It's already bad enough men and women can't hold down one relationship or marriage without breaking up or filing a divorce. So I don't even know how this is even possible in real life. I don't know about the rest of these people in this post but I rather be single or find someone who's never been in love in the first place that way we can both experience things that never happened.
It still exists in real life. There was a news story from Nigeria a few years ago. A rich guy with multiple wives had just married another who was young and pretty and he neglected his older wives. The others got angry and made him have sex with all of them at once and he died of a heart attack. To quote Futurama he probably never thought it would end that way but always hoped lol.
I have distant relatives that do this, there is a couple of tricks.
One is marry sisters, only one set of in-laws.
Get them all their own houses, don't expect them to share nice. Also find women that don't want a man around all the time, they get more freedom if he is gone a bit. They do exist, like truck driver wives are an example.
I personally would never do it, as I've never been able to take care of one wife at a time. I could financially but something is wrong with me for emotionally and I admit that.
Being with 1 girl is like being with 50 girls at once with her multiple personalities so the only way I could handle 3 is if they all treated me like gold and they would have to have different shark weeks so I could rotate them 😆
Our ancestors did it plenty. It’s a lot harder for polygamy today with technology and industrialism. People have more freedom and time to do what they want. Girls don’t need a strong and rich man to protect them from criminals and bandits. Polygamy isn’t needed anymore. It’s more of a sex question now. In the past, it was important to have as many children as possible for labor and carrying on the business, marrying into families and trade negotiations. That’s just how it was.
Of course. What I noticed from those TLC shows and other documents tarys is that there are a two wives that are middling in looks, maybe one really good looking wife and at least one wife who's old or fat or ugly and these wives are sent out to work to earn money for the family.

Emotionally there’s not a man alive that can take care of 3 women's emotion’s but sexually yes financially we could pull it off and I’ll keep them laughing so their spirits will be high plus I figure they’ll help each other on the emotional stuff
NO... I am sure I could not. I can barely keep up with one I have now. I must assume that people in these types of situation are not solely dependent on the guy for emotional or finical support.
No you need to be the lion in that situation, your job is to please them, they will have to bring the resources or there won't be time enough to make it work with all of them.
There is no way you were going to be able to attend to the needs of three individuals the way you would be able to do so with one individual in a marriage obligation.
No no no, this is not going to be a three on one scenario. We all love each other and care for each other equally or I don't sign up. I am not a living daycare center for adults who cannot take care of themselves.

Probably not, but we can dream can't we lol. It may be a less common in women, but I know for a fact that some of you fantasize about having multiple handsome men at your disposal.

Mentally, emotionally and sexually yes. But what's the point of 3 stay at home wives? They'd have to work so we could all have a ton of money to play with. They could work out schedules so one of them is always home when I'd be home.
Yes i can. I've done this before and honestly its easier to take care of multiple women than just one. I currently have 2 girlfriends and one friends with benefits. So i do know what im talking about.
Also I have considered this a lot since I personally want a lot of kids and 1 woman might not want to have so many. I have to get my finances in order 😭!
If I can make sure about justice among them then I will marry them. But If I can't do so then it will be a great sin to marry them according to our religion as well as me.
I prefere 1 but if I loved them equaly I'll try it but I prefer monogamy
