Are anniversaries before you're married a waste of time?

I am coming yo to my 4th anniversary this year and we are not married. We haven't done anything wow apart to go out for dinner one year, that's it. I am not really seeing the point of it now.

First of all when you're in a good relationship every day is anniversary. So never put too much stock in anniversaries.

But if you have dated for 4 years without anything but dinner dates, that sound terribly boring. Sound like the relationship has stalled and it might be time to find a real man.

My partner and I celebrate it, go out to dinner or have a picnic (we use it as an excuse to buy presents too, nothing massive just something :) )
For us, it is really just an excuse to show we care about eachother and do something special

I like to do something to celebrate. It doesn't have to be a huge deal. Maybe just setting aside the evening for a nice dinner and cuddle up on the couch together.
