The gross old saying you just know. Imagine finding out you were missing something and you didn't know it was missing until you found it. Then you can't imagine ever losing that piece once you found it.

I had been in a long 4 year relationship. I loved her and we had talked about marriage. Still there was something that told me that maybe I should not marry her. She really was not a good companion. She was selfish and put very little effort into our relationship. It made me wonder what it would be like after we got married. I ended up breaking up with her.
I met my future wife and we had an uncanny amount of thigs we had in common and an amazing connection right from the start. She also treated me a lot better.

Unless there is a very basic unmistakable observation, you can NEVER tell "he/she is the one". there is NO SUCH person as 'THE. PNE" in reality. That is all Hollywood or Mills and Boon bull crap. We all have flaws. We all change. Marriage changes everybody. Honeymoon period only lasts for the first 3 months (only if you were not together already).

Marriage is hard work and constant effort and a lot of give and take and accepting things that are not ideal. Having said that, there is no better relationship than a marriage. For those who think it is just a piece of paper, they do not even know the meaning of marriage.
