Why do a lot of married people NOT wear their rings?

I'm at work today in a meeting, surrounded by many people whom I know are married- men and women alike. I notice I'm the only one wearing my wedding band (tells you how exciting this meeting was). I also see this trend elsewhere

I wear my wedding band all the time except when I'm sleeping. I only remove it when working on machinery or rotating parts.

Why?

I used to take it off at the gym and leave it in a locker. I lose lots of stuff anyway and I couldn't bear to lose my wedding ring. I sort of got out of the habit of wearing it. I wear it when we go out to eat.

My wife and I both wear our wedding rings all the time. Only time we take them off is for the every 4 months cleaning and inspection at the jeweler we got our rings from 🙂

He gave me money and I was supposed to go pick out a ring I liked with his mom and she ended up picking it (I never liked it) so I wore it for about a year and then I left it in a rental car and they said they couldn't find it.. so oh well.. my husband never wore his because it was a big ugly gold one his parents gave him.. basically neither one of us liked our ring lol
They were big ugly gold ones.. because his family is South Asian...

I don't wear mine and my husband doesn't wear his.

For me, I'd take them off all the time to do this or that and sometimes I'd forget to put them back on. I'd be really sad if I lost them, so I just put them on for occasions. 🙂

I put my wedding band back in the box 41 years ago on our honeymoon night. I don't like wearing jewelry. My wife wears her engagement, wedding and mother rings daily.
