People married or plan on doing so, made up your mind on the last name?

So who's taking who's last name, or who took whos last name? I'm sure the last names should be known to make the decision but I feel like people make up their decisions early sometimes.

If you aren't sure, how do you think it's gonna go down, when it comes to the last name?

Apparently according to someone online you can actually mix both to make a new last name, I don't know if that's true but I guess it's an option.

I'll pick based on the future kids, they're the ones who will have to live with it, so it should be one that goes along with their names

also, mine are a pain to spell... and for governments to write it down right...

I changed mine because I wanted nothing to do with my maiden name. And after realizing a few things over the years that name will die out. Might be slightly selfish but considering everything that went, on my husband completely understood and was supportive.

Sounds like you've had bad memories from that name, if you were able to move on and heal mentally from it that's always a good thing.

I was gonna change my name but after getting married it just felt right to keep my name. It's my identity and there is to many things tied to my name so would have been hard to change

I think both become your legal names tho, if I recall properly, they don't delete either one from the public records and you can be found using both names, if you search up your name on Google (either one) your public information like number, relatives and address should pop up.

I didn't care; it's a custom here that a wife takes a feminine version of her husband's last name, and I simply did it :D

We don’t let small things bother us. So yes.
He knows that our love is stronger than these formalities at this point of our lives.
We are building a stronger future together and here to support one another.
At the same time, we want to help others… that includes my ex. our kids. Be there for his family/friends and others who we can help. These are our purposes.

Naw. Never was. My last name actually partly motivated me to be a teacher because my last name has historical significance to black education and the person with that name is someone i idolize

That's quite the hint, it can't be hard to guess because I'm assuming it's someone famous, historical is basically another word for dead now, motivation is good now, just don't change the ABCs song, many teachers are doing that, you teach those kids the OG way lol
