Are dreams trying to tell you something?

So I woke up from a dream about a former friend and former crush from forever ago tonight. The dream was that he proposed to me and we were engaged to be married. I even remembered the kiss we shared and the ring was heart shaped opal gem with 2 heart shaped diamond hearts. In the dream he said he wanted to do it publicly so that people knew that he was serious about marrying me. I also have not seen this guy in years so why dream of him now.

I personally don't believe that dreams mean anything concrete or that they have hidden messages.

As to why you dream something about a person that you have lost contact, there are probably a multitude of reasons why. It could be because you saw something in the recent past that reminded you of that person, that you smelled something that also reminded you of that person or simply because you were in a place that you were before with that person.

Dreams are random and very seldom are 2 dreams alike. You can be now 3 years without dreaming of that guy and then suddenly dream about him again. This happens because that person has marked you in the past.

You are not likely to dream very often about someone you never met.
