New Year, New Perspective

There were some really great things about 2014, but I am not sad to see it go. I have never been so excited about the start of a new year, and lately, just the thought of 2015 has made me feel really empowered! I haven't really made a "formal" New Year's resolution, but my main goal for this year is just to be... better.

I really want to learn how to make the most of everything in my life and step out of my comfort zone. I don't want to miss anything life throws my way, so I am ready for a new adventure in 2015!

Goals for 2015

I really hate using the term, “New Year’s Resolution.” It just seems more fitting to refer to them as goals. So, what are your goals for 2015? Are there any changes you’re hoping to make?

I guess I'm "that guy" on this post, but these quotes seem to be that sort of empty, 'feel good' type of quotes that don't really inspire people to do much else other than share it on Tumblr or whatever.

I like listening to stuff from Eric Thomas, Les Brown, and the stuff you find in a lot of workout motivational videos. Quotes like "you have to want to succeed as bad as you want to breath" or "if you get knocked down in life, try to land on your back. Because if you can LOOK UP, you can GET UP".

Persian messenger: "You will be spared if you lay down your arms"
King Leonidas: "Come and take them"

Phillip II of Macedon: "If I ever enter Laconia, Sparta will be burned to the ground, never to rise again"
Sparta's response: "If."

^Things like these really inspire not only motivation and direction, but actual energy in me. Again, your quotes have their place or audience I suppose. But I just don't understand how someone can really get inspiration from something so dry and bland sounding?

- to get standard knowledge to i can get dates/sex...

- i start an MBA

- to be the best digital marketer in my country

- to get to advanced knowledge in Spanish

- to get a gf

- to lose weight to 175 lbs

- to travel to NYC and London

- to spend time in a weekend party in NYC/London with my closest friends

- To meet an actress I admire a lot

- To earn 10,000 pounds from my side business

- to buy a car

- to get a two bedroom flat for me and my gf to live in (and so either of our parents can visit from time to time..)

My goals for 2015:
- To make the Deans' List this semester at school
- To work on being more of a patient person
- To mend my relationship with my brother and dad
- To travel and experience more this upcoming summer
- To face and conquer one of my fears (I have decided to face my fear of roller coasters, so we'll see how that goes. Haha!)

Do inspirational quotes actually help anyone, ever?

Especially if you have psychological problems, quotes that tell you to just keep going, to pick yourself up and keep going, won't do shit if you're depressed or something. Sometimes you just don't have the strength to pick yourself up or to even think positive thoughts.

It might not help every single person as everybody has different set of issues. But staying positive like these quotes do help others feel better.

Everyone has really dark days, and sometimes, it seems like nothing can help. I take comfort in knowing that all dark times pass, and when I'm feeling really good, it feels great to read really wise words.
