Ring or handbag?

I don't know what to get my friend as a Christmas gift. She has asked me for a ring for a while now but has also really wanted this bag. Both are essentially in the same price range, at the very top of my budget for gifts so there really isn't a difference in price that would be a factor. She has one other similar bag but would like a second. I haven't really noticed her wear rings that often, and when I asked why not she said it was because she didn't not have any. I want to know that whatever I buy will be appreciated and used quite frequently, especially because I'm spending a nice amount of money on either. She definitely deserves either one because year after year she goes out of her way for everyone else and I think it's time for someone to go out of their way for her in return. I need help before I decide what to buy!

P. S. It's a Louis Vuitton bag or a Diamond eternity ring

So what if I said now that we dated for four years but have been just friends the past two years. We have expressed the feelings we both still have for each other and how we're open to possibly reconnecting but don't see now as a good time. Would this change your opinion or would it remain the same?

Well, just be careful of the implications that a diamond ring carries... but I think she would appreciate the ring more because she doesn't already have one and she'd probably wear it every day (when appropriate).

If she has a similar bag she'll probably swap it out and go significant periods of time without using it.

Of course, to be 100% sure you could always ask her which one she would use the most.

As an aside, you are quite generous with your money. Very expensive!

I think you should get the ring since she already has a similar bag and she has already asked you for the ring. Just make sure it's the correct size for her finger if you get it.
And maybe include a nice chain if that's not too much. If she wears it around her neck, it's less likely she will lose it.

I would not give her the ring if your just friends. Honestly I wouldn't even get her the handbag.

After your update, I would still not give her the ring, give her something like that when you are back together and you've been together for a while.

Keep in mind the bag is more likely to get stolen if it is louis vuitton. Rings are harder to steal.
