My parents started out poor when we first came to Canada cause they had no Canadian job references and their friends were just as poor and unaffiliated as themselves in the job market. Back then, the thought of eating chicken nuggets at McDonald's could make me extremely happy for 3-4 months. Now at my current age, not even lobster boosts my mood that much. I also enjoyed vacations more when my parents made less money and I liked parks and material things more too. Now I will even say no to vacations when they are free cause family is offering to pay for it. I rejected a free trip to Las Vegas this year and now I've rejected a free trip to Switzerland too.

The Bible refers to money more than any other subject, with approximately 2,350 verses dedicated to it. This serves as a stark reminder of the profound influence money can have on one's life. I've experienced a significant windfall practically overnight, but I've also lost significant wealth and voluntarily relinquished it to repair my spiritual connection with God and renounce materialistic greed. I can attest to the exhilarating sensation and burgeoning confidence that arise from sudden wealth accumulation.

I've closely studied a psychological principle known as the Hedonic Treadmill, which suggests that people tend to revert to their baseline happiness level, irrespective of the events in their lives. I've lived this concept personally. Many individuals won't accept the idea that a million dollars won't alter their lives in the anticipated ways until they actually accumulate such wealth.

Hence, the significance of locating your worth and treasures beyond earthly possessions. Creating a community where a life of service can be lived is much more satisfying. There's more merit in being productive and multiplying. The temptation is potent to pursue this notion that achieving a certain milestone will improve my life. This misconception ensnared me for most of my life. And that's exactly what it is... a snare.

However, I believe there's equilibrium to be found. God endows us with abilities and talents that we should exploit. In the world we live in, the utilization of these spiritual gifts will naturally be financially rewarded. In conclusion, I would say that beyond fulfilling basic necessities, money does not bring genuine fulfillment.

I don't think its based on wealth. Some studies have shown that increasing wealth makes people happier, but soon you get used to your new lifestyle and go back to whatever is your natural level of happiness

Of course people whose poverty prevents them from having necessities are going to be unhappy for very good reasons.
