Can you return stuff to a different store?

So like two stores A and B sell coke.
If store A has a sale for 2 for $4 but store B has no sale and it’s $6. Can you return it for a profit or even if the other store is too far away?

I recently returned iphone charging cables to Walmart as I upgraded phones. I purchased them at one store but returned at another. However with no receipt they scanned the barcode of a package matching my cables and then my credit card to see proof of purchase. However the amount credited back to my card matched the original purchase price, not the current retail.

You might get away with it here and there, but I don't think that there are entrepreneurs making loads of cash returning products to gain profit.

No, you can bring it to the same chain, but will only get the amount back you paid, which is why you need the receipt.

You don’t need a receipt, they will look it up by the credit card or give you store credit

Not in germany, because only a handfull of people have a credit card and your bank account is private.

Just bring the receipt.

Or when ordered online, you can manage returns via your account.

But anyway you only get back what you paid from the store you bought it from.

Also you can often choose if you want to get your money back, get the same item again (eg when its broken), or get store credit.
