I once had a package, going from Houston, Texas to me in Chicago. When it finally left Houston, two days after it was supposed to, the next tracking step was it entering a facility in Phoenix, Arizona... ten minutes BEFORE it left Houston. Even allowing for the different time zones, that doesn't make any sense- and that's not taking into account that that's over a thousand miles IN THE WRONG DIRECTION.
Then it left Phoenix, and arrived in a Missouri facility the next day (okay, making progress...) before leaving Phoenix again, four hours later. Then it left Phoenix again, before arriving in Phoenix. Then it left Missouri, and the rest of the trip to me was pretty straightforward- but when I called to ask what the hell that tracking data was about, I was told "our records show your package was delivered", which it WAS- eventually- but that wasn't my complaint. Unless they were testing some new time-travel delivery system, it makes no sense. I think the tracking is just to shut people up.
Damn that's fucked up lol I think your package was probably abducted by aliens halfway through
I think they just used the same tracking number twice at the same time, and couldn't be bothered to admit it.
Damn oh I never thought about that my package after arguing with them is finally being delivered it's out for delivery now and I didn't have to pay a fee I'm so happy
Actually, yes, the USPS is amazing. It was absolutely critical toward establishing the United States.
However, my USPS story is this...
In Latham NY (ZIP Code 12110), they built a new post office. This new post office had two stop signs 1 car length apart. Yes, it was a ridiculous waste. I took a picture, but sadly, don't have it anymore. They also quickly realized how stupid that looked so they got rid of one of them and it looks like they changed the parking lot slightly to get rid of that. Not sure, I haven't lived in that area in 22 years.
That's cool and all but I wasn't talking about I was being sarcastic I know the United States Postal Service is important I'm talking about whenever they leave a notice to pick up on your door and don't contact you you take it too literal I'm sorry I should have been more direct ๐
Hey now you get to do double the stops
Well, I have a PO box so I go to the post office to pick up all my mail. This way, if we are gone on vacation...
1. The mail doesn't pile up, get wet from rain, or stolen.
2. Doesn't indicate that we are not home thus inviting burglars.
3. Isn't snooped by my mother-in-law.
I live 0.4 miles from my post office so it is no bother and I usually get the mail once or twice each week. Considering all the packages that my wife has sent, it is just so much better this way. We also signed up for a USPS service which emails us telling us what's coming to our PO box, so, if it is important or urgent, I know to head down there.
Oh yeah you know what that's a good point I've never had issues of people opening my mail but now that I'm with my boyfriend I don't know if she might start opening my mail I'm 16 though so I guess she would have a right to
They suck
