Should I add chocolates, or just do the experience?

I’m taking my friend out to a movie and lunch day for her birthday. Should I add on a small gift? Like a box of chocolates? Or is the experience enough?

The experience would be enough. Taking her to see a movie and then lunch would be enough. Take a walk on a nature trail. Go back to your home to give her a body massage. Spend time one-on-one, letting her share her birthday experiences of the past. Spending time with someone has more meaning than a gift. A gift is sometimes a shortcut to being a friend. Here is your gift for your birthday and I see you later. That gift will pass away, and you will lose memory, but that day of you spending time with her will remain in her heart forever.
