Boats.
You know what they say about boats.
They're holes in the water that you pour money into.
Every boat owner knows that's true.
One time, one of my boats got caught in a logjam in a fast-running river.
It was close to being sucked under, with me in it.
My life flashed before my eyes.
My financial life, that is.
Nope, I said to myself, there's no way I'm letting this river be richer than my corpse, so I hopped out of the boat and used every last bit of my strength to pull that floating gold mine back to safety.
Boats, you can't live with 'em, and you can't live without 'em.
My wife doesn't agree with me.
As I said above about boats, you can't live without 'em, ...
I'd bet that you were thinking that I was going to finish that sentence with something different about living with my wife.
Nah, I can't live without my wife, either.
Boats, yeah, I never regretted buying boats.
I hope that I'll have my boats in my afterlife.
The ancient Egyptian royals have their boats in their afterlives.
I've paid through the nose for mine.
If I can't take my boats with me, I don't want an afterlife.
I wonder what it'd cost to have them buried with me.
Then my boats would be holes in the ground that I pour money into.
Boats, yeah, I love my boats.14 Reply- 1 y

Awesome!
More moolah being poured into the water!
I'm down to three boats, but I had five at one time.
What does a man need five boats for, I finally said to myself.
Well, I didn't, and I don't, and truth be told, I really only need two boats, so one more should go, but it's not in anybody's way or anything, so yeah, I gave away two boats, but still have three.
Boats are great!
I hope you have lots of fun with your boats!
Maybe I'll see you on the water and say, "Ahoy, matey!"
No, that wouldn't work because we don't know each other, much less knowing what each other's boats look like, or even which waterways we each use.
I took a Xanax a little while ago for my anxiety, and as you might be able to tell, it worked pretty darned well.
I'm not anxious at all right now.
I'm feeling quite sociable, as a matter of fact.
Okay, well you guys have fun in, with, on, behind, or whatever with your boats!
Be safe when boating!
Cheers to you!!
P. S. - I like to talk a whole lot on G@G. too, but I bet that you already figured that out for yourself.
See ya!🚤😊🚤👍

I grew up around boats. My brother and I bought a 18 foot Grady White. It was the last year Grady White made a wooden boat. We stripped it right down to the bare wood and refinished it. It was a good diving boat because it had a wide beam. We had that boat for two years and sold it after we graduated high school to get money for college.
I always figured I would eventually buy another boat. So the years went by and I got mrried and had kids and never really had extra money. Eventually i hd the opportunity to buy an 18 foot Maritime Skiff. It was slightly used by Maritime Skiff. It was the bost that they used for the photos in the catalog. It was set up exactly how I would have ordered it. They were offering a good price for it and i imagine I could beat them down a little more. I had the cash on hand and i was going to take a ride up to their factory in New Hampshire and pick it up. I was working 6 days a week, going to school at night and I never got any vacation time. My wife asked me when i would ever get to use the boat. I had to admit that she was right. So I passed on it. Now I am older and truthfully I really do not want the hassle of a boat anymore. i am truing to talk on me of my kids into buying a boat and i will just use it. and let them do all the work., - 1 y
@exitseven That's a nice story, exitseven.
Wood boat stories are extra cool, for some nostalgic reason.
My grown son has no interest in boating or fishing.
He's a golfer.
C'est la vie.

1 yDefine pricey? , I will assume no regrets as no second guesses or buyers remorse whatsoever? As there are generally always less pricey options that will do the same job practically speaking. One has to be my car , some would say outrageously so ! , another - home theatre av system , not outrageously expensive but certainly pricey but film and music are def interests of mine so worth it. Custom pc build is up there too but as I work in I. T that’s a given for a geek like me. All together well into 6 figures

1 ymy mobile air conditioning unit. i live in germany and in germany, appartments with air conditioning litterally don't exist. we get up to 38 degree summers. that's just over 100 degrees in imperial units.
it's obviously not as expensive as my computer or my car but i feel the latter 2 are not really "items you buy on a whim". they are items you just gotta have to live in modern society.00 Reply
