Birthdays are a big deal in our family. The celebration starts as soon as you wake up... or are awoken. lol. and goes until midnight. Then, it's over till next year... unless... it happens to fall on a weekend, then you are celebrated for TWO days!! It's more about other people's joy In celebrating the birthday boy/girl than anything else and sometimes is low-key and relaxed and other times, it's just over the top from beginning to end of the day! And, best of all, you never know what to expect from year to year and it is all good!!

My birthday is next month. And i want a teacup Pomeranian puppy. I posted a story yesterday. About someone is selling a puppy the price is almost $3k. “Just in case, you ask what i want for birthday”. My boyfriend just replied, still next month ! And didn’t say anything 😂😂


If he doesn’t get it for me, i’ll get for myself😂

I am really not in to tangible gifts for my birthdays or Christmas, if I want something I buy it. Most things I do buy are erm pricey lol, or have to be very specific to what I want. It’s nice having friends and family for a good meal or a weekend away. For my brothers, mine and my sisters 21st we have rented a really large house in the Lake District, then about 20 people went there from Friday to Monday (Thursday night arrival and Monday morning leave).

I am at the stage of life where I do not need any more clothes and I have all the tools I need. I have been hinting for a while that I would like to go paragliding or white water rafting or something similar. So far nobody got the message

Person I’d most like to have by my side is RIP, so skip that one. Experience something mellow like a day with friends. Thankfully I don’t really need or want any tangible items, but perhaps organize a neighborhood food or clothing drive, which I’ve done in previous years, bc I do remember struggling quite a few years of my life.

I just need to tell you a story. I used to loathe my own birthday and would rather put out a campfire with my face.

My mother-in-law pulled me aside one day and very sincerely and firmly told me that my birthday has absolutely nothing to do with me... She said that my birthday is an opportunity for other people to say we're glad you're here! To be honest I never looked at my birthday the same way again... Miss that woman 😢

@DrPepper12 I love that story. That's exactly how birthdays have always been celebrated in my family. And I mean for generations. Birthdays are a BIG deal. The celebration starts first thing in the morning and ends at midnight, unless it's on a week end... then it starts Friday evening and ends Sunday evening! And it is pure, unadulterated fun for everyone!
