Guys, playfully touching a girl?

do you find lots of reasons to touch a girl in a friendly way if you think of her as just a friend? I have a guy friend who has been pretty touchy lately and I am starting to wonder if he likes me. I like him but am moving slowly in case he doesn't feel the same.we were at a small party in the dorm and he was close to me the majority of the time and liked to wrap the streamers around parts of me. like he tied one on my arm and later jokingly wrapped a long one around my shoulders and neck. he had fun with it, tangling me as I playfully tried to get out of it.

also, later after we threw water balloons out the windows at people on the street, one of his guy friends had an extra water balloon that he was hanging on to. my friend who has been very touchy, let's call him Jake, he grabbed my arms from behind me and held me while his friend squirted the water at me. this happened a few times because he didn't get me that wet and the water balloon was big to begin with.

overall he isn't one of those really touchy people so it is a bit unusual for him to be so physical. he is also a psych major so he reads people really well, especially body language. I am well studied in body language as well and he knows that so I am not sure if he is acting this way to send me a message of sorts. I know I do that sometimes with my body language, but I have not done that to Jake.

i guess what I am asking is, do you guys act like this around girls you think of as friends or more than friends? thank you in advance for any answers!

if a guy is repulsed by you, he obviously will not flirtatiously touch you. now that we have the obvious out of the way here comes the mixed messages, but lets keep it simple... guys will either flirtatiously touch you because they like you or.. because they are a flirt. likely if he likes you he will also try to engage in conversation with you and ask you things about yourself. flirts are MAINly just interested in the physical aspect and the "giggle factor" and don't feel the need to dig any deeper. though there's a surefire way to know if a guy likes you, and that is... to ask him :)

We have had lots of conversation to get to know each other well. If anything he knows a little too much about me. When things fell through with the last guy I liked he was the one to be there with me and talk me through it. He noticed I was taking it especially hard because it brought up past memories of lots of rejections. I let him psych profile me so he asked a few pretty personal questions.

But as for being a flirt, he likes to flirt with lots of girls he knows in the bantering kind of

Way but I have not seen him touch other girls when flirting. He is a bit shy for that usually. His guy friend's make fun of him for not being good at flirting because he doesn't have the way of talking game. I find his way of flirting really cute, it's like trying to get to know the girl with some hints of him being flirty. The cute shy guy approach.

That's why I wonder about the touching, it is a bit unusual for him. He seemed to be testing the waters a bit overall, like he waited until his

he does seem interested in you then, in my opinion. he can still be a "flirt" and still like/have a preference for you. it has happened to me before. just try to take notice that if there are other girls he usually flirts with in the room with you guys, who is he paying attention to? you or them? keep that in mind

When we were first getting to know each other he would flirt with other girls when we were in a large group but he seemed to pay a lot of attention to me tonight and just in general lately. There were a couple of other single girls there but he wasn't flirting at all with them. Annoying one of my girl friend's for fun but we all do that sometimes. He also started a flirty game with the balloons on the floor, throwing them at me and tapping me with them. This ended up with us reaching for the

Same balloon a few times and playfully fighting for it (he has a much bigger wingspan than I do). We both seemed comfortable with the touching but he may be taking it slow if he likes me because he knows what went down with the other guy and may not know that I am completely over that guy

Cool, thank you so much for your help! :) I just needed an outside opinion. Now that I think about it he did seem to keep tabs on me like I did to him, what I do when I like someone. After annoying my friend she walked over to do some fighting move on me. She caught up with me in the halls, making me feel like I was falling back but then gently putting me down. He saw me crawl back up to standing and he stood up, seemingconcerned asked what she did.

Her reply was want to see?and did it again :P

we were drinking last night and cuddled a bit. I fell asleep on his shoulder at one point and he liked to have his arm around me. at the point where he was completely blacked out he asked me "what's the name of the guy you like?" but I wasn't that drunk and played coy saying that I wasn't drunk enough to reveal any secrets. he let it drop after that. the only thing I worry about is if a big flirt like him would want a girlfriend or would feel tied down. do you have experience with that?

some guys who are even major flirts can be in a relationship without feeling tied down. but they would likely flirt with other girls and just not know how to be a good boyfriend so not being able to hold an extended long term relationship.

thing is he seems super respectful and sweet, like he would make a good boyfriend. I know he has had a few girlfriends in high school but I have never had a boyfriend. if we were going out I would be OK with him flirting like he does so long as it doesn't lead to more stuff with the other girls. do you think him asking me who I like means anything in particular? some say a drunk person speaks the truth

most of the time if they ask you who you like they want to know if they have competition but the rare time it is due to pure curiosity.
