I think I have a gambling addiction and I've lost a lot of money, what can I do to stop myself when I want to gamble?

Don't carry any form of currency including bank cards and credit cards.
When I would visit a casino, I'd take a fixed amount of cash then assume I will lose it all. I ask myself before hand: "How much can I lose so it won't adversely impact me?" Then, based on the answer to that question, I'd go to the casino with either that or less money. I'd keep my wallet in my car except for maybe an ID and just carry the cash. So, when I lost it all, it was gone and that was it; I couldn't lose any more and I was fine with what I lost since I assumed it would be gone already. Thus, any other outcome was a benefit in a sense. If I only lost half of it, it was like I won that half. And if I actually came out winning (which has happened), all the better. And it's important to walk away once you are ahead.
