My wife makes a certain amount of cash at her job, so we try to use cash whenever possible. It's better for the local economy and can't be traced.
We also promote the use of cash in order to forestall the institution of digital currency.

But for certain things, we need credit cards. She has a money-back Costco account with a card for each of us. We use them for gas, often for groceries, and sometimes for other things. She pays it off every month so as not to have interest charges.

I have a credit card with a 1% interest rate that I use for on-line purchases and for some more costly items. I have a balance on that card but don't worry much about it due to the low interest rate. I automatically pay $200 toward it per month.

We NEVER use our ATM cards. Credit cards have fraud protection, ATMs don't. I don't want to take a chance of someone accessing my bank account.

I don't like credit cards, but they are a necessary evil for building up your credit report.

Consequently, I have exactly one card, which I got when I was 18 years old. I use it just enough to keep it open, and have paid it off in full every single time.

No. I go to school. We have campus meal plans. What else would I put on it? Anytime I have to pay (not often) I use that exclusively.

I have one and will occasionally use it just for certain perks that come with using it. As others have said, it also helps build your credit score if used responsibly.

I rarely carry cash with me now, and almost always use my credit cards to pay for things. They can earn you cash back rewards to spend on things and help build your credit score.

Also, in Canada, many chequing accounts have high fees for unlimited transactions. There are no limits on how many times you can use your credit card

If used properly and not abused it helps track your purchases and if paid off in full every month like I do it helps build your credit rating. It also reduces the need to carry large sums of cash.
